Knock out the bottom player
Davis has the least to offer, seemingly is the least committed and has the least amount of baggage.
Knock the Raiders out, and tell Kroenke and Spanos to figure it out together or they both are denied

It just seems too easy and obvious

I'd go the other way: Approve both projects, they'll start talking...

I'll do ya one better, relocation will only be approved upon payment of the relocation fee. See how serious Spanos and Davis are when it's time to start cuttin checks?!

I like that one. In fact, why not make it part of the application....

If ESK were to start building it anyways he may screw up the Carson funding. Doesn't have to be for the Rams necessarily....... wink

The big question is do both sides have at least 9 solid votes to block.

If they do, then there is the risk that nothing gets approved and who does that hurt the most?

If everyone plays nice,,,

Hurts:
LA, Get's no team
StL, Nixon out, time for voting which should fail, time for ESK to just go
Kroenke, (assuming he doesn't just go) Allows others to catch up. Loss of revenue 2016 Rams sales
? Davis, Might lose his meal ticket with Spanos.
Owners, The problems remain unresolved and the fans start looking away.
NFL, Makes less money

Helps:
Spanos, Can catch up some. Get's a chance for vote in SD. Blocks Kroenke
Carson, Can catch up some.
StL, Temp blocks Kroenke

Now if Kroenke decides to play hardball (fingers crossed) and prevails.
Hurts:
StL bye bye Rams
Spanoise bye bye Carson
Davis bye bye free ride

Helps:
ESK, Becomes one of the most powerful sports owners anywhere
Rams, First class operation for our team
LA Rams fans, get our team back. Tailgating season officially opens in Sept
NFL, makes more money.

Man, I just got more confused than ever. :?

Really?

I'd think that's exactly what Stan wants. His project is ahead on the timeline, and he's got much more capital to work with. He'd have no reason to do anything but tell Dean "Good luck with Carson" and go about his business.

Exactly. Dean's the one who refuses to talk. Approve Carson (and Inglewood) and i bet he starts talking...

Problem with that move is that it gives no guarantees that Kroenke wont tell Spanos to piss off after the headache he gave him. Once they approve they can't say no, but Kroenke may not want to play ball anymore. If that happens then Spanos gets screwed over pretty hard, which is what the NFL is trying to avoid.

That's true, and my suggestion was a little tongue in cheek.

I think the reality is Spanos is bent on keeping Kroenke out of L.A. He's going to stay on that for as long as he can.

Only if that becomes untenable will we see what his fallback position is, could be share with Stan or stay in SD, i really don't know...

After the private league vote approves neither stadium since both sides cant muster 24 votes Goodell to Spanos: this will end in one of two ways: 1) you negotiate with Kroenke about Inglewood or 2) Kroenke starts construction next week and the league cannot stop him.

Spanos says he does want or need to work with Stan. I am not sure how telling him to go it alone is misaligned with what the Carson contingent is saying.

Alone = without Davis. That would change the entire dynamic.
