I think Gurley does have an arthritic knee. But it’s very manageable and with everything that’s been learned regarding inflammation and improved methods of eliminating it, I think he will remain an elite back this season and beyond, assuming no further injuries.

Of course, this is just my opinion. It’s no better than the other stupid opinions I’ve read recently. :D

would you say every current player in the nfl that's had knee surgery has an arthritic knee? how about every current nfl player that's had joint surgery, also arthritic? prior to the 2017 draft it was known that 7th overall pick jonathan allen had arthritis in both of the shoulders he had surgically repaired in college.

how about sony michel, the guy who ran for 94 yards and 5.2 yards per carry against the rams in the super bowl? he tore his acl in high school, had to have knee surgery again in his last year at uga, but the pats took him in the first round nonetheless... last year he was listed as questionable 7 times because of his knee and doubtful once. arthritis for sure, no?

The question is degree and severity and whether or not they have a bad episode with intense pain and swelling where they have no choice but to miss time. How many backs did that exact scenario happen to last year? That I know of, it was just Gurley.

Michel wasn't full go every game but he also didn't miss any after he got going earlier in the season (he missed time early because of a meniscus issue from the summer). There are reports that Michel is bone on bone. Same as Marshall Faulk in his final years. He's another example of the fact that you can play with that. For a few years anyway.

Sigh.

There seems to be a misunderstanding as to what the term "one post" means.

There are plenty of other threads to have these discussions. I asked that this thread be limited to single-post predictions on how Gurley will do this year. I get it - I can't enforce such a limitation - but is it really too much to ask?

Simple answer - yes.

Why would you think posters would adhere to your wishes?

Guess its just my misguided belief that people are capable of being polite and civil... all evidence to the contrary. :roll2:

Actually, those aren't the right words that describes what goes on.

People don't follow orders very well. Nowadays, chaos prevails. Just look at the democratic debates. The candidates were yelling over each other non stop.

I didn't give an "order." I made a request. Several people politely obliged. Some didn't. That's all.

Sure. Put me in the impolitely obliged category.
