Here's a TJ Simers' article from 2012 about Stan K. trying to buy the Dodgers "If Stan Kroenke gets the Dodgers, doesn't LA get the Rams?" I thought it was interesting almost four years ago, but even more interesting now. So far, it's played out like he predicted in the article.

I'm not a Dodgers fan, but when the Dodgers were for sale, I followed the story closely because I thought for sure that would've meant the Rams are coming home.

Man, that would have been great having the Rams and Dodgers playing at Chavez Ravine. But, the gift of McCourt just keeps on giving...

As far as Kroenke even needing a loophole, I don't see it. He acted in good faith with St. Louis and they chose not to play ball. He's already got whatever "out" he needs.

Also, how does Spanos even have a leg to stand on in all of this? SD has come up with at least two different proposals for the Chargers to have a brand-spanking new home in SD as well as the fans are still showing up to the games. Last time I looked, they were drawing a solid 62K+ for home games.
