Hi,

I need to fly to Switzerland the night of the Seahawks game and will need to do so from LAX (living in the bay area, this aint my normal airport!).

Curious how long I should plan with all the post-game traffic. I would be taking a cab/uber. And how difficult is it to pick one of those up at the end of the game?

Any insights/tips/advice appreciated!

Never went to LAX after a game but it does take a while to get an Uber when leaving the Coliseum. You go down MLK a couple of blocks and wait there.
Then the traffic on the 10 and the 405 will likely be brutal. Not weekday brutal but you will be slowed by traffic there too.
LAX check in is 2 hrs early and the traffic will add at least an hour on top of the Uber wait. I hope your flight doesn't depart before 7:30 - 8 pm. Or you might miss the end of the game.

I would take the train/bus from the stadium to LAX. Basically, take public transportation from from the stadium to Union Station then from Union station to LAX:

After the game, public transportation (both bus and train) are already lined up to take people away from the stadium.

I'm not sure how long it will take though.

Where will your luggage be? Do you need to go back to a hotel before you go to LAX? If so, maybe stay somewhere that is pretty close to a metro link to take after the game.

Or, are you just leaving your luggage at LAX storage when you fly in before the game?

There is a bag check at the front of the stadium outside the gates, but the line after the game is over is super long.

Ironically, we did after the Seachikens game last season.

We walked to the Raddison Hotel to separate us from the crowd and thought that to be a good staging point and caught an Uber.

At least it worked for us in timing. What didn't work for us was we were where charged $160 for the ride when it said we would be charged $75. Our friends we were with used their Uber account and the last we heard was our friends gave up on the battle. We have been Lyft customers ever since. And like that service better anyways. So do the drivers evidently.

The key as others have indicated, its all about where you stage yourself. This year we are going to stay in Burbank and take the trains and then a short ride on Lyft from the closest station to our hotel.

My luggage will be staged in our minivan in the parking lot. Wife and kids need to drive back to Bay Area on their own (unfortunately) as I head to LAX.

i'd rather take the minivan than the jet, ha ha, hate flying, altho i've been forced to do it all of my life... a wile back we went to visit my in-laws in scottsdale, i dropped my wife and kids off at sfo and drove to az, loved it...

I should have included that. Sorry about that.

About an hour and a half from the end of the game to arriving at the airport. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the Uber and ordered it up on our way to the Radisson.

That is just one sampling and I always hesitate to offer an opinion when not asked, but I would plan on at least two hours from my seats at the game to the curb at LAX. My motto is always early never late with air travel. Working or not. Have a great journey!!
