He hopes to meet with the other three members of the relocation committee soon: Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair, and Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt.In the meetings with Mara and Kraft, Faulconer was joined by county Supervisor Ron Roberts, and in the meeting with Goodell, he was joined by the city’s lead negotiator Chris Melvin. The meetings occurred in recent days in New York, Boston and Charlotte, N.C., after Faulconer finished a lobbying trip to Washington seeking money for projects such as affordable housing, water infrastructure and housing for the homeless.Faulconer and Roberts were upbeat Saturday in assessing the meetings, which occurred just days before NFL owners are set to discuss efforts by the Chargers, St. Louis Rams and Oakland Raiders to relocate to the Los Angeles area, although no decision is expected.Roger Goodell, six owners taking more prominent role in NFL's potential return to L.A.Roger Goodell, six owners taking more prominent role in NFL's potential return to L.A.“There’s no substitute for a face-to-face conversation,” said Faulconer, “and this was an opportunity to let the league and other team owners know that San Diego is absolutely an NFL city.”Said Roberts: “It’s always better to be able to define your intentions with the decision makers rather than depend on the interpretation of others.”Roberts and Faulconer stressed the civic plan to build a new stadium in Mission Valley on the site of the aging Qualcomm Stadium. The idea, however, is not supported by the Chargers ownership that considers the plan unrealistic and not destined to withstand legal challenge on environmental grounds. Without agreement from the Chargers, the idea for a special election seeking voter support for a financing plan has been scuttled.See the most-read stories in Sports this hour >>The Chargers and Raiders have announced plans for a joint stadium in Carson. All I've read is his money is mostly tied up in the worth of the Chargers, and he has little cash on hand, the reason he needs help building a stadium. Which bring up another thought. What price will the owners set for relocation fee? I've heard 500 mill being a central figure. How is spanos and davis going to handle that? thats half the price of financing a stadium, might as well build one at home. by Hacksaw 9 years 8 months ago Total posts: 24523 Joined: Apr 15 2015 AT THE BEACH Moderator Re: Rams owner willing to share LA-area stadium with another owner POST #13 What doesn't add up is Spanos trying to say that the location of the current and proposed site won't meet EPA standards while stating the Carson-ogenic will.. Give me a break.Or is he talking about the little delay waiting for the meetings? That would be nothing like the remedial delay in Carson. If it even gets the EPA approval. If the league doesn't see this also, there might be a chance I could become a billionaire too sense these guys would have to be as blind and dumb a a box of rocks. Why does the Who's Pinball Wizard keep running through my head?
