bluecoconuts wrote:Roggin just said he found out the Tennant deal in Inglewood... No rent, gets all the money from his game days, sponsors, etc.

Which is one hell of a good deal. Roggin says he believes Kroenke told the NFL that's his deal, but not Spanos. Nobody is talking to each other, the league would need to tell Spanos that, and get them talking. Says Spanos won't get naming rights, but 10-20 million a year shouldn't be enough to spend 900 million.

So the Chargers get to save their "LA market" and get the prestige of being an LA team without having to go into bed with Goldman Sachs and the Raiders and pretty much only paying the relocation fee.

Prob still won't be enough for his fat mouth. This is where the fraudulence of the Chargers' desire to move to LA gets exposed.

Fabiani is a politician, even if it's a great deal, to him it's probably more about appearances. Even if its not really a tenant, because it's called one, that'll be enough for him to say no. Spanos seems to listen to him, so I wouldn't be shocked if he still said no, even if that's stupid. Personally I don't know why the league would reward him for that.

I was going to do this but found it on another board so he saved me the typing time.
The Fabiani plan according to Fred.

1. When attacking this issue, take advantage of Stan Kroenke's notorious silence to control the media to our advantage.

2. Convince people that it's easier to get an expedited EIR on toxic land, but that it can't be done on land with a stadium already on it.

3. Manipulate the populace into believing there is a Chargers' fanbase in L.A., when in reality there is none.

4. Deny the Rams' history in L.A., and claim the Chargers dominate all of Southern California.

5. Deny any proposal from the city of San Diego, no matter how legitimate. Badmouth the city leaders. Claim there's no time to get a deal done.

6. Claim the Chargers' move to Los Angeles would be the least disruptive, while convincing owners that the Chargers/Raiders plan is the best "California solution".

7. Convince Mark Davis that he's a full partner in the Carson project, when in truth, he's only being used to retain votes and sympathy.

8. Call in favors from lawyers, politicians, sportswriters and local leaders to back their buddy Dean Spanos.

9. Claim Dean Spanos will not partner with Stan Kroenke under any circumstances.

10. Whenever there is a sense that the Inglewood project might have an advantage, release revamped renderings of the Carson plan with new features that in reality will be impossible to accomplish.

It's a good plan. If I wasn't always so straight up I might buy his book.
