I think everybody had such high expectations after that first week and Washington kind of pushed them around. They really controlled the line of scrimmage and that's unusual for the Rams' defense."Do you still believe the Rams D can be an elite unit?"I definitely do. Especially when you consider the amount of pressure they can put on opposing quarterbacks. You are going to get turnovers and big plays. It is a pretty unique group and one that can still have a good year."What do you think of Foles-for-Bradford trade?"Initially you are kind of shocked when you see starting quarterbacks change teams. I think it worked out well for both of them. I think both Foles and Bradford needed a new venue, a new offense, a new city."What are your thoughts about the Rams moving?"I think as long as they're there...you still need to support them. I grew up in St. Louis and it's a great sports town whether it's supporting the Cardinals or the Blues or...when I was growing up there was the Steamers with indoor soccer. People obviously need to continue to support the team and players. I hope it doesn't happen. I know how hard it was when the St. Louis football Cardinals left. It was hard. As a fan base, it is something that will be devastating. Ultimately it's (Stan Kroenke's) decision. I am not sure how much say the other owners will have if he wants to move. It will be sad if it happens. Football is great in St. Louis. It’s a great sports town. It would be a shame if there wasn't NFL there."Kroenke has not communicated his intentions at all. Does it bother you that St. Louis is referred to as only as a baseball town?"I think it is predominantly a baseball town. It's a sports town. They're going to support good time. It is frustrating when you hear they're only a baseball town. I have to come to Stan's defense a little bit. When this whole process started...(the city) knew the clause was in there that the stadium had to have certain renovations. The team started saying they need this money for a retractable roof. It was kind of a back and forth. I love the new idea of a river stadium. I love the new designs. Why didn’t they come up with this design three or four years ago when this whole thing started? It would have been great if this came to the forefront. I think it got to the point where Stan from a business standpoints got frustrated with the whole process. Stan has privately funded money to build the stadium. Someone is going to build it and someone will be paying him rent to play there. I know where you are coming from a dome aspect but here is something better for the city."On this week's Rams' match-up and the potential for Todd Gurley's debut:"I think that would be very timely for the Rams. I think from an offensive standpoint they need to get some balance going. They need to convert their third downs. On the flip side, defensively, you need to get some turnovers. (The Steelers) are putting up 33 points a game. They have to put pressure (on Ben Roethlisberger) and not let him get comfortable and take the big shots up the field. They like to get big chunks. They need to keep (LeVeon Bell) under control." Do you think Gurley can help them become a contender in this division?"I think they do. I said this division is one of the best in all of football. There's so much depth. I think the 49ers will be down but the other three will be battling it out." RFU Season Ticket Holder Reply 1 / 1
