Tipsheet: Lynch's mom demands change after Rams loss

As you would expect, Seattle Seahawks fans were none too pleased that their heroes fell to the upstart Rams on Sunday at The Ed.

The game ended when the Rams defensive line poured into the backfield to dump Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch for a game-ending loss in overtime.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw 41 passes during the game, a career high, and Seattle failed to establish its trademark ground attack.

Lynch's mother Delisa brought the heat on Facebook, calling for Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell to be fired.

Here is what Mrs. Lynch wrote, with a few edits for clarity:

"Too the smart (guy) media who wrote that's why Marshawn didn't get the ball in the Super Bowl, how many times did Russell get sacked yesterday. Don't worry I will wait on the answer plus it was totally different at the Super Bowl the line was better than yesterday no blocking and to the offense caller who should have been fired yes I said it. Fired !!!

"He is the worst play-caller ever the only reason he called that dumb (guy) play yesterday is to be able to justify the 1 yard that wasn't called in the Super Bowl, but most fans already figured this out. We're still on a mission but I know the Seahawks staff loves that play caller more than a win, go figure ‪#‎nfldontpayme#

"I love this team and will stand up to anybody who tries to destroy it boom!!!!"

Boom indeed. Meanwhile, folks with a bit more football expertise wondered about the pass-happy approach, but a lot of that had to do with game circumstances.

Oh, and then there was the fact the Seahawks could not block the Rams defensive front -- Aaron Donald in particular.

MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE

Questions to ponder while wondering how battered ex-Ram Jake Long passed a physical to return to the NFL:

Was it just a matter of time before "South Park" took a shot at "Deflategate"?

Where can people go for help once they feel cheated by the Patriots?

Just how far past his prime is Peyton Manning these days?

WHAT OTHERS ARE WRITING

Here is what some of America's leading sports pundits have been writing:

Don Banks, SI.com: "As if ordained from on high, the Seahawks’ three-point overtime loss at division rival St. Louis immediately re-enforced most of the preseason concerns about the two-time defending NFC champions. Would they ever again have full faith in coach Pete Carroll’s decision-making after that Super Bowl play-calling disaster? Can their depleted offensive line stand up against the best defensive lines? Will they pay for the Kam Chancellor holdout one way or another? And does their hunger to win still burn intensely after enjoying three seasons of almost non-stop plaudits? There were reasons to doubt the Seahawks on every one of those fronts after the Rams beat them to drop Seattle to 0–1 for the first time since 2012. And now here comes a Sunday night visit to Green Bay’s Lambeau Field, with the 1–0 Packers frothing at the mouth to exact some sort of revenge on the team that has tormented them in three consecutive games, starting with 2012’s 'Fail Mary' debacle and concluding with that agonizing overtime loss in January’s NFC title game. Right from the start, we’re going to see if Carroll’s club has the mettle it’s known for, and the pressure only intensifies when you consider that NFC West rivals Arizona, San Francisco and St. Louis all won in Week 1."
