Why couldn't you watch the Dogers or Trojans?
Neither game was available on DirecTV. Dodgers network and Pac12 network aren't offered on DirecTV(in my area, anyway).

I have DTV and the PAC-12 and AT&T/DTV are still working on an agreement. So, there is still hope.
The Rams at the Coliseum in LA next season won't have a problem with DTV, in fact quite the contrary.
One thing you have to keep in mind is the PAC-12 Network is different than the Dodgers station. The Dodgers only show the Dodgers a few months of the year, whereas the PAC-12 network shows live sporting events all year round.
TWC and the Dodgers way overpaid, DTV stood their ground and that's why it's not on DTV.
TWC Lakers are on DTV simply because there is year round live sports with the Lakers, Sparks, High School Football, etc.

The Rams and DTV starting in 2016 will be a marriage made in heaven.

Isn't it the local affiliate's decision on what game to broadcast? I know here in the Philly TV market I am in the local CBS affiliate has set up a poll online asking viewers to vote on what game they would like to see. Even the local Fox affiliate does it for Sunday afternoon when Eagles are Thursday, Sunday night, or Monday night game.

Makes sense to show Charger games regardless of relocation issue.

Yes and no the local affiliate only have so much power in covering the games. In Texas all stations are supposed to carry both Cowboys games and Texans games but the local FOX affiliate in Dallas refused to carry the Texans. They finally gave in but it was a fight to get them to comply. National games the local affiliates can state their preferences which is almost always complied with but the Networks still have final say. The Chargers situation is a little different because I have heard recently that only OC and Riverside are part of the secondary market which gives the stations in LA flexibility in their coverage.

Since i got Sunday Ticket, i'm only vaguely aware of what games are on locally.

CBS is making a mistake, there will be plenty of games they won't show that would get better ratings than the Chargers...
