I think Peacock called it an additional requirement that the NFL added for the business community.I can so appreciate the optimism of Peacock and in fact I think he is a likable guy. However in my opinion he has never had any real chance of winning this when we look at the tale of the tape. Peacock has risen to the top of the corporate world meanwhile Stan just creates corporations. Peacock has earned himself a very good paycheck, Stan writes paychecks. Peacock raised money for the Arch project. Stan is a member of Civic Progress and made donations for the Arch Project. Civic Progress of StL boast it has the 30 largest employers as members. Stan is a member and has been a member for some years. he is dialed into the economics of the city and he also has a front row seat to see how much money the city can spend. When the city has been unable to afford to do something he and fellow members in the business community have picked up the mantle such as hire Peacock to fund raise and get the Arch project off the ground. So Stan has since this all began already had a look into numbers and he already had a working knowledge of the folks Nixon would chose for his task force. In honesty I do believe the task force is as much about a PR campaign so locals do not become apathetic. They have stated their primary goal is to keeps the Rams and also remaining a viable NFL town. If they lose the Rams I believe they are aware local apathy will become a hurdle in any efforts to garner another team. So while Peacock in my opinion is putting up a fight to keep the Rams, I do also believe they are doing a 2 prong as has been the nature of the city all along. Build a Dome to house a NFL team and can do conventions. Build a stadium that can house the NFL and MLS.So in my opinion the very nature of the task force is just that a organization with a two part goal they have merged as a one part plan. Which I think will pay off for them if the Rams do move which in my opinion they will. If the Rams do move they will already have in place the mechanism to bring football back and they will also have the advantage of the NFL feeling guilty to enhance their future endeavors for such a goal. So in my opinion the task force is as well a PR campaign and knows it has the job of making sure large scale apathy does not set in for the local residents as well as local businesses so they can make sure they have proof of numbers for ticket sales when they vie for their future team. by Hacksaw 9 years 5 months ago Total posts: 24523 Joined: Apr 15 2015 AT THE BEACH Moderator Re: Rams announced attendance tonight was 37,460.
