It's all new and everybody knows the Coliseum is not a modern NFL Stadium.

We knew this going in. But the trade off is the unparalleled and unbeatable nostalgia factor. The Los Angeles Rams in the Coliseum. You can't top that, you can't. Not in the short run anyway.

I'm sure the fans, Rams and venue will figure it out as best they can considering what they're working with.

On the announcer and constant barrage of music, i guess that's a new thing overall. I went to a Hornets game in New Orleans a couple years ago and couldn't believe the non-stop onslaught of gimmicky crap, even during play. Whatever happened to watching a basketball game? I really don't care for it...

Have they resolved the $$$ issue for security? I wonder if that includes traffic cops. If so, and the issue is unresolved, well...maybe....they were giving Stan a message. I got off the northbound 110 @ MLK Blvd @ 12 EXACTLY, got in Lot 6 @ 12:45, less than 1/2 mile away. Also, I was told the lots opened at 12, It sure looked like they were open earlier, at about 12:15 when I got my first glimpse there were a LOT of canopies already up.

As far as the PA Announcer, yeah, he was a lil more enthusiastic than the norm, but I was OK with him.

I totally forgot about that. As I drove around the coliseum for a few hours, I thought it was odd they were everywhere but I didn't see them doing anything other than standing on corners chatting with each other. Now it makes sense.

I agree with you 100%. We got to the stadium around 11:15am and were told by the Lot 6 security that they were not opening till 12. We did however see a bunch of people already sitting on their foldable chairs savings spots. We asked the security guard if that was allowed and he assured us they would be kicked out before noon. So I drove around the stadium to kill time and parked near by. At around 11:45 I made my way down Figueroa towards Lot 6. Long story short I didn't park till 12:20pm, and the lot was a mess. I figured they would direct traffic and be as organized as possible to not waste so much space. I still got a great spot but wow was it hectic.

Yeah by the time we got in it was fine, still plenty of room. WTF is up with the other whole half of lot 6 being closed??

Figured I start a thread for all the issues people had about the OPERATIONS of the LAMC

my short list

1. Lines at concessions blocked walkways through concourses
this was clearly the biggest problem I saw. Both at inside and outside concourses, some lines would literally form a "human wall" and there was nowhere for people who just were talking past could go. this is a huge issue and must be addressed

2. delay on radio
there was a 25 second delay between the play I was watching and what I heard on the radio from my seat. They either need to reduce that or offer those $25 radios that give you the raw feed of the radio broadcast as long as you are inside the stadium

3. No game programs
dont get this at all. only sporting event ive ever been to where there was no "souvenir program!"

4. PA guy
maybe hes just not my style, but I didnt care for the overly intense, WWE style PA dude

Im sure many will want to talk about getting tickets and parking. I had my ticket and opted to use regular street parking. Over the years Ive found a few spots that are about a 15 minute walk. I got to the stadium at 2:30 PM and found parking without much difficulty. While walking to the stadium I did see all the parking pass lots were a mess. Getting into the stadium was also pretty easy. I had a clear, drawstring type bag I had bought online. Just didnt expect to have to take my cap off. The metal detector went off, but they didnt ask to scan me.

totally agree about the concession lines blocking walkways.... They are going to have to re-configure how they set that up.... in between tunnel 26 and 27 the food lines across from the Mens and Womens restroom were terrible. Just to walk the few feet between the 2 restrooms took a lot of time and effort through a thick crowd... that's a fire violation...and a bad safety issue. Men were having to stand in the front area between the in and out doors of the lady's room ...they weren't actually in the ladies room but it just wasn't a good look for them to be that close.... people were walking up across the benches to get through the crowd and some guy took a step on the drinking fountain ..snapping it.... fortunately he wasn't hurt nor was anyone else and water didn't start spraying....but they have to fix the line situation.....

the game programs were an issue....if they had simply just made more copies of the roster sheets they passed out at Family day that would have been fine..I thought to bring mine but left it at home...

The PA guy was ok...that's the style nowadays I guess...lol...

some folks mentioned the parking and traffic.... thing is people are going to have to think out the box about how to get to the stadium...and where to park..... there are tons of streets running north and south.....east and west....to get to the Coliseum....if you're gonna take the 110 and exit right by the stadium like so many....you're going to be stuck in traffic.... it's that simple..if you use the ample surface streets available to get to the stadium...you'll reduce your traffic dramatically..... the Metro is also a great option for some....

and you're going to have to leave well before the game... I mean we're not talking about the Rose bowl type parking situation...but people should plan to get there early...

My wife and I are kind of weird about getting places several hours before we need to ..so we pulled up at 12:15 yesterday at parking structure A at USC where we have a season pass.... the walk wasn't bad at all down Vermont, but people also cut through SC campus...
We wanted to get there early to chill...and check out the scene so to speak... the tailgating was massing in the parking lots....and people were set up in the park on Expo and Vermont...nice trees with good shade..... We checked out the Rams shop..... but what we really liked was going to the front of the Science museum and having a nice seat in the shade with a cool breeze coming through.....the lobby of the science museum was open...and airconditioned....nice food court inside also....
