I just have to believe that he will get another chance to start somewhere. It's a long season and rarely does any team go the entire way without their starter going down at least for some time.

I mean, Vinny Testaverde played in the league for 21 years, until he was 44 yrs. old, and only had eight seasons where he threw more touchdowns than interceptions. Every year it got down to the point where some team needed his services.

I agree. He's beenpaid to sit at home, work out and wait. If he signs early and has to clip board it for the season it likely spells career backup with no money. If he and his agent are patient he should sign with a team that has a need(I.E. The Rams last year) and get paid.

If I were his agent I'd target the Chiefs, Packers and Dolphins. All backup QB situations with familiar coaches and Miami since Tannehill got paid but still hasn't lit it up.

Not his best game and he didn't have Gurley.. and GZ missed.

I think there's a very low ceiling for Keenum.. but I won't burn him at the stake as long as he's not turning the ball over.

Point is that in games where they needed him to make plays, he failed just as badly as Foles.
Fortunately for him he played against some lousy teams and while the Rams D (and Gurley) beat Seattle
I like Keenum but thought more highly of him while he was playing on losing teams in Houston than while he was on the winning side of things for the Rams.

I wish the Rams had a QB who didn't "lit it up" like Tannehill the last two years...

I checked his stats from last year, actually not bad. 4,200 yards 2:1 TD ratio 24 to 12.

Like I said... very low ceiling.
The turnovers matter a bunch to me. He had mediocre numbers.. but kept the ball safe. When you have Hekker and a pretty good D, that matters. I'll take that over what Foles was 7 days a week.
This isn't an argument for Keenum being the starter. I fully expect Goff to beat him out.

I hear you and I get what your saying.
I just think that Foles is more similar then you think and that the sample size makes Keenum look better. Foles was actually pretty safe with the ball save for games against Green Bay and Cincinnati on the road when the team was far behind and forced to throw to catch up. Reality is that Foles threw 7 int in those 2 games and only 3 in his other 8 starts, which is pretty low.
And thru 7 games, Foles was 4-3 while accounting for 8td against 5int. Not that dissimilar from Keenum stats.
Keenum of course had the luxury of playing with leads of 14,18 and 16 points in their wins when Keenum didn't have to do anything. He didn't bring them from behind to win any games like Foles did against Seattle
