T J Watt?
You have to believe this is a SB run year if they are willing to trade for TJ. He's not going to come cheap. They will have to write it for a minimum of 3 years to spread it to make him close to affordable. Young has two years left on his rookie deal that pays him less than $2M / deal. It's not like he hasn't produced with 9 sacks and 44 pressure last year. That said his weakness continues to be vs the run. TJ would be a starter for probably 2 years depending upon the cap hit.

I've got mixed feelings on this.

I don't. He's got a base salary of 21 mil this year. And he wants a new deal obviously with more years (and more money). He's 30. He's in the final year of a 4 year deal for 102 mil. You say, spead it over 3 years. You think he wants a 2 year extension? Sure for 50 mil maybe. Pay Verse. You'll have him longer.

I find it highly unlikely that the Steelers, who are also trying to make a run, are going to trade him...

three years will come and go before the Rams will have to pay Verse. But I think I agree with you. Use that money elsewhere.
