I don't believe it was ever close. It might have been mentioned as a possibility if they couldn't come to terms with Stafford. Serious? NO. That was just McVay being a professional head football coach not stirring up anything. The ME of the me not we has a picture of A-Rod next to it in the proverbial dictionary.

I don't believe it was ever close, either. But had we not been able to sign Stafford, I believe it would have become serious pretty quickly. So how close we were to losing Stafford? Not close at all, I don't think.
