IMO when you look at the Niners you are looking at a FO and coaching staff in quiet desperation mode.

They have one of the softest schedules in the NFL. If they don't at least make it to the NFC Championship game I think there will be changes in the FO and coaches. Even the pathetic Yorks have got to be frustrated and I think a housecleaning will happen if they don't go deep into the playoffs this year. That's why they are overpaying Purdy because they simply don't have the luxury of time.

But the Rams clearly have a roster advantage despite a tougher schedule. The Seahawks are a huge question mark. They could be good or they could be mediocre. The same with the Cards. I think the fact the Cards didn't make a move to look at life after Murray is telling. Murray will be in a contract year in 2026 so will Bidwell & Co feel content with simply the status quo for the next 2 years? At this point it looks like it. Kyler doesn't appear to be concerned with their poor performance. The QB is a team leader that should set the bar.

I think the Niners should be in playoff contention simply due to their soft schedule. But I don't see them as a SB contender.

I can remember.....not too long ago when we lost Von Miller.....our pass rush was our biggest weakness. Even with AD.

Hoecht was "a bum"
Gaines was "a jag"
Copeland, Hollins, T Lew were failures

It doesn't take long for the worm to turn, eh? A couple of good drafts......and with the loss of AD, it's even more remarkable!! Can't wait to see these guys get after Purdy, Darnold and Murray....and all the other QBs we'll play!
