Of all of our Olinemen he is the biggest anomaly to me. I've read where some of you think he could play LT...I don't know if RT would be his best spot. Because of his injury last year, I don't know what to think about him. Is he someone who will light it up this year, and if so, where?

He played LT in College,
but he was drafted to play G.

We didn't draft anyone or signed any FA prior to the draft.

So, I think a lot of us was figuring who would be the swing tackle,
Leveston, McC or Arcuri, who was on the PS.

McC did not show any future promises.
Especially when he came on the field to play,
due to injuries with our starting T last season.
McC gave up 15 QB pressures, 4 QB/Hits and 5 sacks on 331 snap counts.

While Leveston was out for the season with an ankle injury.
And Arcuri was a PS player.

I think they are still determining if he can play T and/or G. He was a good tackle in college. 69 could be right - the Rams see him at G. I think he will get reps at both now and in camp. When I go to camp I will do my best to see who get reps where with the back up OL. We can set up a list of who to watch as some we know - Limmer will likely only get reps at C, for example.

As I recall, in college he was strictly a tackle. Where he plays is, in a way, up to him. If he's good enough to make himself into a viable NFL tackle, then more power to him. But if guard is where he fits best, then so be it. I guess we'll find out.

He was strictly an OT in college. But in many respects he's similar to Havenstein except for Havenstein's height. KT looked to have decent feet but it's hard to tell because his technique especially in pass protection was very inconsistent. But other than height he's pretty similar to Havenstein. KT's forte is his run blocking which is why when they signed him I saw him as the next RG in 2026. But that same run blocking and his experience at OT make him a possibility at RT.

McClendon's heavy feet have been on display when he's had to start at RT. That said, the Rams lived all these years with Rob's heavy feet. I don't often agree with PFF but I think they got it right with Warren. He's a far better run blocker than pass blocker where he's on the low end of average.

I have no doubt they will look at KT as a replacement for Havenstein in 2026 but this year he will be playing swing probably for both OG and RT behind Quessenberry. The fact they signed Quessenberry tells me they aren't sold on either Warren or KT as a RT and will give it another year to sort itself out. I think one will replace Dotson who will basically be in a contract year this year. Next year is a Ram option year to extend him or trade him. He has trade value as he will be 30 coming off solid years in LA.

I think they will be drafting at least one OT next year because IMO this is a prove it year for Jackson. Jackson has two years to prove he can be a franchise LT. But he must show developmental improvement this year or the Rams will have no option but look at their options for a follow-on starter at LT. I knew I wasn't alone in feeling relieved they signed Quessenberry. He's the epitomy of the "good enough" swing OT at his age. He will give up plays but overall he's going to win more than lose.

Jackson's slow development is my basic criticism. He still makes a lot of mistakes with his technique in pass protection. But he's going to want top $$ as a starter at LT. The wildcard is AJ Acuri. Though he played both OTs in college he has always projected more as a RT. It's the only reason I can see them staying with him after his disaster at LT. Like Rob he's very long at 6'7", like Havenstein he's got limited playing range and isn't more than average off the snap. AJ is a decent run blocker, but his weakness even in college was pass protection. I think he's really got to show something this year in TC or he might not make the team.

Leveston is 6'4" 336, which fits their new parameters at guard. I doubt he has the quick feet and basic "grace" (for lack of a better term) to play tackle. He sounds like a mauler who gets decent movement, which fits what they're doing at guard.

Look at the Rams other guards:

Avila, 6-3, 338
Dotson, 6-4, 330

Quite right. There are many examples of guys who played right or left tackle exlusively throughout college but were drafted to play guard. What it may mean is in a pinch, they can sub him a half game at OT.
