You guys know a lot more about the “weeds” of contracts and such but isn’t Ramsey on a 3 or 4 yr contract with guaranteed $$ ? He just tosses that to resign and a “reasonable” rate for 2 years? That would be a huge move by Sneed. All IN as long as it’s not taking on his current contract. I just don’t see the machinations of how that happens.

Contracts aside, I was referring to our playoff run with Von Miller and the amazing last few games and post-season he had for the Rams. He was recouping from an injury and missed a lot of games if I recall correctly. Ramsey on the other hand was a highlight reel for the Rams until that post season where he got toasted.

Can someone remind me why they signed him in the 1st place?... and why they want him to go away?

It is a bit inexplicable why Miami extended Ramsey and Tyreek when they did but things were going good and they wanted to make their players happy.

The Rams have been there in the past with Goff, Gurley, Cooks, to name a few...

He wouldn't toss it. But if the Dolphins can't trade him, they'll likely cut him, in which case he'll be a free agent without a contract.

And as '74 points out, it's hard to see another team taking on that contract. Of course, the Dolphins could agree to eat some of it as part of a trade. So it could go down like that...

If Ramsey is cut and becomes a free agent, he can sign where he wants. Some think he might give a team like the Rams a team friendly deal. But I don't recall anything in his history that makes me think he'll take less to play at a preferred destination. I could be wrong but I believe he'll take the highest offer. Even if its with a non contender. I still remember the armored truck thing in Jacksonville.
