How is he at pass protection? In this offense he must be able to protect Stafford or will not see the field much.

Right? And a lot of it is mental. He has to know the offense, know the calls, know what he's supposed to do on every play.

In this offense that's a lot for a rookie.

Stafford is constantly checking in and out of run/pass plays so just about every play is a potential pass play...

Imma say, having 3 potential RB1's on your roster is valuable. When Gurley, Akers or Kyren were out, the O was flat. Until now, we've never had a credible dual threat in the RB room, and now we have 3... if one goes down, we still have a dual threat.
I *hope* we extend Kyren, and that it's a team-friendly deal, because in many ways we'll still need him in the backfield at times.
My vision: Kyren grinds the D down in the 1st half. Hunter blows them up in the 2nd half. Ballgame

It's a big reason I think they haven't traded him at this point. It's going to be a long season with legitimate SB aspirations. That said, if offered a day two pick it would be hard for them to pass on.

I'm hoping that clarity will come after OTAs. You can never have too much depth at some positions. If McVay returns to his roots and plays more 12 personnel it could open more opportunities for Hunter to see the field.

Williams is under contract so the Rams actually don't have to do anything. Williams would see it as an opportunity to solidify his value on the FA market. He will be 26 next year so his value will be high. Williams sees this as his career opportunity to get a ring so it's not like he's going to be pounding the table or sulking. IMO he will see it as his ring year with the ability to make his money thereafter.

Kyren could easily fit in this offense as the 3rd down RB this year. The only wildcard would seem to be what other teams think of Williams. Case in point IMO would be the Dolphins. They have an undersized RB starter who was drafted for his pure speed {4.3) but he's posted decent but hardly dominating type of numbers. They could see Williams as a solid rotational RB.

The market will be there for Williams next year. It's simply a matter if a team will make a trade for him. He's exactly the type of player that could be included in any trade for someone like Ramsey which is why I originally posted that I wouldn't be surprised if Kyren is traded.

This year I don't see them relying on rookies like the last couple years. I think Ferguson will be a nice fit at some point. But not early on. I think Stewart might see a little more time on the field than the others. I expect him to be a part of the rotation on defense. But not as many snaps as Verse and Young. Hunter might not see much action this year. But I think at some point he'll figure prominently in the run game with Corum. Not sure they're willing to fork out big bucks for Kyren if they think Corum and Hunter can handle the load.

I think you are probably right but training camp and preseason will affect this.

RB - as Elvis has mentioned many times, MCV is hesitant with inserting Rookie RBs. I do not see this changing with Hunter. Corum will get more reps

TE - Hard position to master in this offense. Ferguson will likely get packages and slowly worked in depending on the health of Higs and the effectiveness of the other 2 TEs

WR - You better play STs bc you aren’t getting offensive reps unless there are injuries.

DL - Hamilton will get rotational reps.

Edge - Stewart will have to fight his way up the depth chart in camp. But he too should get situational/rotational reps.

ILB - Pooh will have every opp to compete during camp for meaningful game reps. He is the one guy with a real shot at starting sooner rather than later, IMO

No other position offers any real opp for game reps, IMO.
