Kyren Williams is a good RB. But this offense didn't have a true running threat either from a dual threat QB or a RB. Williams is a perfect fit for an offense that is ball control, move the chains. In a Harbaugh like move the chains offense he would be perfect.

The other problem are his fumbles. He had 5 last year alone. Akers didn't have that many over his entire career with the Rams.

Okay the meat of why I'm posting this. It wouldn't surprise me if the Rams traded Williams while they can get something for him. A second or third round pick wouldn't be out of line. Corum is a very similar type of RB so with him and Hunter they are still two deep at RB.

IMO a lot will depend upon how Hunter looks in OTAs. But the only thing keeping Hunter from starting is his pass protection which takes time to learn. That said there would be no reason Hunter couldn't play early downs and Corum on passing downs.

The only mitigating factor IMO would be the Rams are in a win a SB now mode. They know they will get a comp pick for Williams at the very least next year. They might simply elect to keep him one more year. But if offered a second or mid-round 3 pick I think they take it.

I strongly disagree. The draft capital the Rams might receive in a trade, is not worth the loss of a third year player....with his knowledge of the system and production over the last 3 years....regardless of his fumble problem.

Let's look at reality and not 'possibility'. Can Corum handle the full load? What has he done to inspire confidence to that end? Can Hunter learn fast enough to fill the void of not having Williams? That's a guess, at best.

I'm not saying trading KW won't happen, it might at some point if those questions are answered IN A HUGE WAY prior to the trade deadline. But I doubt it. And based on the value received vs the benefit of keeping him, I doubt it even more.

If you're 'in the SB window' you don't subtract from the team for a 4th round pick.

We'll see though.

Ok, then I'll say it. Trading KW won't happen. Not this year.

There's still a fair chance they extend him.

They did in 2024 when they traded Earnest Jones and had scrubs to replace him that were eventually beaten out by a UDFA

Kyren is elite except for his damn fumbles! To be a top five he's got to reduce that weakness. That's tough to do when D's know you have that flaw. I have my doubts as to whether they will extend him for what he wants. As for Dare's ideas, I actually like reading about things I hadn't considered before. It's actually good for our brains ;) IF you don't care for how anyone writes their posts...just don't read them, right? 8-)
