I would love to see the Rams do the same. Flipping some of your tickets is a given. Some people simply can't make every game. But if you're selling 100% of your tickets, you shouldn't be a season ticket holder. I think we've all seen enough of the Rams being the "away" team at home. Maybe that can't be completely eliminated, but getting rid of obvious scalpers/non-fans would be a good start.

Its taking the NFL long enough to address the problem. An easy way is to threaten to report these sales as potential unreported income to the IRS. They can allow a set number of "co-purchasers" but their names must to listed as just that co-purchasers. Anyone entering must show their ID to prove they are on the list. In other words there always have been ways to mitigate the problem, but owners only look at the dollars of the season tickets. These are the same SOBs that created the seat license which is basically a industry tax on the seat.

It's simply a matter of will to enforce the issue and the billionaire owners are worried about losing what amounts to chum change. Airlines control millions of seat tickets every day. The NFL can't be bothered controlling once a week games? They don't lose anything really because unsold tickets are made available via legitimate ticket agencies.

The Packers have a waitlist of 150,000 people for season tickets.

So i wouldn't expect the rest of the league to follow suit any time soon...

I don't know how the system works. How do they keep track of who sells what?

Can't speak for every team but for Rams, tickets are digital, they're on your phone, so they can track them pretty easily.

ST holders get perks if they attend over a certain amount of games. It's not very many, like 3 i think, but they're doing something...

The difference is you have two VERY different markets.

The Green Bay Packers are in the shitty midwest and barely have any entertainment/sports dollar competition. That's why you hear the stories of parents in Wisconsin putting their newborn children on the season ticket waiting list. Or people that buy shares for the Packers just so they can frame the paperwork to hang on the wall of their mancave.

Compare that to beautiful flourishing California where the Rams have to compete against the Dodgers, Lakers etc. BUT the 100% flippers warning could be a model if the Rams wanted to clear house of the brokers.

Add the Seahawks to the list of teams warning flippers.

(Warning: it is a Mike Florio article so make sure you take some Pepto Bismol before reading.)
