I'm sure his grandfather (and uncles) will tell him what a pain it would be to play another year of college and then get drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2027. Or the Las Vegas Raiders. Or the NY Jets. Much better to go to a winning organization in the throes of being uber-competitive (re: L.A. Rams).

I looked at his tape. I saw similarities with Josh Allen in his play. Allar.

I’m talking Allen was raw at Wyoming. He honed his skills.

I think with a guy as raw as Allar with Mcvay he can develop into a pro bowl type of player. I liked that Allar has that college experience at Penn State.

That’s the thing. This is a unique season where the Rams will have a shot at attaining Manning. And I’m sure the Mannings realize that.

They will scope and weigh going to a team like the Raiders you can’t even rule a team out like Tennessee.

I’m sure they paid attention to Mahomes and Reid.it’s also who coaches you.

But shit but then does Dallas become open and become an alternative?

So I like him playing at Sofi. There’s a reason the Rams made that trade with Atlanta and it was for Manning.

Even if we get up to two we can put heat on a team and have the Mannings put heat on that team that he won’t play there just swap with the Rams or pick someone else and we get Manning.

The Rams aren’t half assing it after Stafford. They want greatness. They want a bona fide Pro Bowler type of Quarterback.

Related to the Rams only due to the fact that we have no idea how long they will wait to bring in Stafford's replacement (I don't really think the vet thing is going to happen unless some VERY specific people and circumstances synchronize), with that being said...

HOLY SHIT the Georgia Bulldogs did a thing!!!!

The Dawgs haven't had a consensus, overall top QB start for them since Matthew "Super Saiyan" Stafford himself!!

Its possible our two firsts next year won't be enough to move up to number one. We'll probably have to throw in a second and/or third along with it. Its not like whoever has the top pick is gonna move down a few spots. Atlanta's will probably be in the mid teens. Ours will probably be upper 20's maybe even 30's.

Heck, we might have to add our 2027 top pick if that's not enough. But only if they're sure they'll be getting their next franchise quarterback. If the Jets, Giants, Browns or Raiders have the top pick we probably won't be able to make that trade. They all need a future franchise guy. Then we'll have to consider waiting to see if one falls to our first pick.

Every year there is a absolute stud QB at the top of the draft. How many actually end up with HOF type careers? Do the Rams absolutely need that type of QB1?

Only 8 of the QBs drafted at the number one spot have won Super Bowls with the team that drafted them. Even Stafford had to wait until he had a team around him. It shows that the overall roster strength is the most important factor. Which is why I'm saying they need consistently good play at QB1 not necessarily a super star. Even the Niners know that which is why they are hesitating at paying Purdy the elite number he wants. They know how that will affect the roster around him.

Does anyone believe that without AD or Kupp the Rams still win SB LVI?

Look at the Lions. They have Goff at QB who is playing at an elite level and they still haven't even been to one.

There are going to be at least two maybe 3 QBs in next year's draft not named Manning that can get a good team to the Super Bowl if the team has the roster and coach to make it happen. The Niner's lost their chance with Purdy due to bad coaching decisions not bad play at QB. It's why even they know he's "good enough" to win it all if they have the roster around him to do it. IMO that isn't lost on McVay and Snead.

Jalen Daniels might have been the best QB last year but the Commanders lost to the better overall team. Does anyone think Mahomes isn't elite? Did they win the SB vs the Eagles? Is Hurts even more elite than Mahomes? Or was it simply a better team around Hurts?

Yes having a QB that can play at an elite level is important. But to think it's the most important metric is not refective of reality IMO. Speaking of Mahomes he was picked #10 and the second QB taken in 2017 and looks to be a HOF lock. If I remember correctly 2017 was considered a poor QB draft much like 2024. Trubisky was taken with the first pick and where is he?

The first pick QB mystic is just that a myth. Without the team around him they don't have the immediate success most assume comes with their acquisition. IMO scheme fit and the HC are more important than the draft position of the player.

The Rams lost the SB in 2018 not because of Goff but to a bad call by McVay who readily admits that now.

No. Every year there's a QB or two at the top of the draft deemed a stud. Many times they aren't (see Jamais Winston, Carson Wentz). Sometimes they are (see Jared Goff, Andrew Luck). Sometimes they're just 'servicable' QBs. And sometimes there's a guy not in the first round who ends up better. There is no steadfast rule or result. It all depends on their talent, demeanor, coachability and where they end up. Fisher would have ruined Goff. Purdy would have been irrelevant if the Raiders drafted him. Too many variables to carve anything in stone.

Do you believe without Stafford, AD and Kupp win a Superbowl? Nope.

Sure it's the roster but without a doubt the most important spot on the roster is QB.
