I was discussing the draft with my friend Al Terego. He and I have been communicating about the draft for decades, and we typically see eye to eye. He has a great connection with Rami Nsider, who has access to the inner workings at Rams Park. He also is close with Lee G. Sors, who is able to obtain information about a lot of teams.

Al tells me that the Rams are definitely going to draft a player from a major program who will bring a lot to the offense or defense either this year or in the long run.

Or they might trade down.

He's just speculating. He might make sense, he might even be right. Just like anybody else.

There are two things that make me LMFAO.

.......the guy who knows how the Rams are thinking because he knows somebody, who knows somebody else, who knows somebody who knows an ex-Rams employee or was once a writer who covered sports for his high school or college paper.

And

..... the guy who finishes his post with "you heard it here first!", as if, even if the guess turned out correct, any future speculation from him should be taken very seriously.

This thread has turned into a great example of how not so great content generates a lot of engagement.

As for the trading back idea, so far all we hear is teams want to trade back. They can't all trade back. Somebody has to be willing to pay to trade up. Maybe this isn't a good year for that? Maybe it's just talk and plenty of teams would be wiling to pay market to trade up.

But if it is a buyer's market, maybe trading up will make sense if you can pay less than the going rate...

With the 26th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams say they don't want this pick. And 31 other teams say they don't want it, either.

Ha! There was that one draft where the Viking botched it and a couple teams got to run up and draft ahead of them...

In the pre-internet day, I used to subscribe to The Sporting News. Great publication that had great articles and could arguably be described as the ancestor/inspiration for the Athletic. Today, it seems to have morphed into a clickbait Disneyland for trolls since every time an article pops up on my Apple News+ app, it is about ridiculous rumors or speculation or this team should do this.
