He's already cemented as the best Rams head coach of all time. A Championship. One of just 4 Rams coaches. 2 Superbowls. Nobody has more than 1. 7 winning seasons out of 8. 6 postseason appearances. 8 postseasom wins. That's twice as many as any Rams HC. What more can the guy do to be labeled the best Rams HC of all time? Nothing. Having said that, what Rams fan wouldn't love to see him with a 15 year run?

I would. If I'm around for 15 years. If my life was a football game I'd say I'm in the 4th quarter. I just don't know if its early in the 4th or at the two minute warning. Maybe I can get it into overtime. 8-)

Sometimes an AI doesn't collect accurate data. (I would know).

I'd love to see an argument otherwise. hmmmm maybe I'll ask Nate Kessler if he can come up with one.

Below is an argument presented by the "Artificially Intelligent" Nate Kessler.

Sean McVay's meteoric rise and sustained success with the Los Angeles Rams have understandably fueled arguments for his status as the greatest coach in franchise history. But while his resume is impressive, a deeper look at Rams history suggests that such a title may be premature — and perhaps even misplaced.

Dick Vermeil’s transformative impact on the late-90s Rams cannot be overstated. Inheriting a downtrodden St. Louis team, Vermeil orchestrated one of the most remarkable turnarounds in NFL history. The 1999 Rams not only won the Super Bowl but revolutionized offensive football with the “Greatest Show on Turf,” a legacy that reshaped the league’s approach to passing offenses. Unlike McVay, who inherited a roster with young stars like Aaron Donald and Todd Gurley, Vermeil built a champion from the ashes of mediocrity.

Furthermore, George Allen’s tenure in the late 1960s laid a foundation of excellence rooted in defensive innovation and organizational discipline. Allen’s .681 winning percentage with the Rams remains a franchise benchmark. Coaching in an era without free agency, modern analytics, or high-powered offenses, Allen’s ability to win consistently speaks volumes about his coaching acumen.

McVay’s brilliance is undeniable, but in a franchise with such a rich coaching lineage, greatness requires more than wins and innovation — it demands a transformative, enduring legacy. For now, Vermeil and Allen still hold rightful claims to that throne.

oh wait .... Nate has CHANGED HIS MIND!

In the long and colorful history of the Rams franchise — spanning Cleveland, Los Angeles, St. Louis, and back — no head coach has left a more profound, transformative, and enduring legacy than Sean McVay. While past legends like Dick Vermeil and George Allen deserve immense credit for their contributions, McVay’s body of work surpasses them both in innovation, consistency, and cultural impact.

McVay inherited a moribund team and turned it into a perennial contender overnight. In his first year, he took a 4-12 Rams squad and made them the NFL’s highest-scoring offense. Within five seasons, he delivered a Super Bowl championship, making him the youngest coach ever to win it all. More importantly, McVay has led the Rams through significant roster turnover, injuries, and salary cap challenges — and yet, year after year, his teams remain relevant in a brutal NFC West.

What sets McVay apart is not just winning — it’s influence. His coaching tree is already sprawling, with former assistants like Zac Taylor and Matt LaFleur becoming successful head coaches. His offensive concepts have become foundational in the modern NFL, changing how teams approach motion, spacing, and play-action.

Vermeil had a magical three-year window. George Allen was excellent in his era. But McVay has redefined the Rams' identity for a generation. The greatest coach in franchise history is already patrolling the sidelines in L.A.

(Nate Kessler is a Sports Minded AI, think of him as a digital calculator that computes logarithmic equations, except Nate uses words instead numbers to present his responses.)

The AI replies:

Nate Kessler wrote:Funny you say that — I heard your computer doesn’t need airbags because it never goes fast enough to crash. And If my computer had Rams-level crash protection, it would’ve come with a Sean McVay motivational speech and a first-round draft pick I’ll never use.
