(Especially we're playing in Sofi again during season 2026)

They have QB1 & QB2 in place.
You don't waste a pick for a guy that is going to sit on the bench as QB3 during a SB run.

Their needs are in two positions: ILB & a Swing T.
(Unless they figured that Leveston can fit that T spot,
but I figured they brought him in to be a power guard.)
McClendon is not that guy who can be that swing T,
and not miss a beat on our OL if he had to replace our T.

I would say, if there is not a top notch ILB or T, WR, TE, or CB that fell to us at 26,
then trade down and then take the best available players in our first pick.

Yep I agree, we have seen what RT looks like without Havs and a good chance Havs misses games at some point. Time to invest and maybe use that position this season.

I think Rams find QB next year and try and maximize what it can do with Stafford. I see another offensive weapon and CB early after a trade down.

So F'n what? I come on here to read about my all-time fav team and welcome anyone's opinion, whether I agree or not. No need to make snide remarks about someone else's terminology. It's just petty.

Many moons ago I left the St Louis News Dispatch over someone choosing to publicly deride my nickname "Safer", because I actually had the balls to state I didn't understand why NFL teams didn't trade players and picks like the NBA and MLB did back in the day. That asshole got kicked off of their board and I was suspended for two weeks. Why? Because I had an original idea that DID come to pass and my nickname is simply the first five letters of my last name.
Living up in Solvang, I've only met three of you; Elvis; Hacksaw (RIP) and Ramsman. I've enjoyed my interactions with all three!
Isn't it time NOT to be in agreement with another's opinion and NOT call them out? Just learn whose opinion you value (or don't) and choose to read accordingly.
And now................back to getting on top of what our fav team is going to do (yes, all 147 ways to do it!) ;)

That is terrible Safer, ole I remember those Ramstalk days.... it was a circus

Worrying about whether or not he walks or they trade him. But I think ultimately he sticks around for another go at it. He knows at this stage of his career its no longer about money. He'll always be a millionaire his whole life. The Hall of Fame is important to him. His best chance to be a first ballot is with his current team.

Have I heard something? No. Do I have sources? No. But I do have this little black ball that looks like an 8 ball. I shake it. It gives me an answer. Its never wrong. Although sometimes I have to shake a few times to get the right answer.

It sounds like next year should be much less drama with regards to bringing back Stafford if he wants to play post SB win :D . Seriously it sounds like if he wants to play signing wont be an issue.

At least he's telling us outright that his sources are former sportswriters of former small, local newspapers in San Diego. In other words, people who don't have, and probably never had, access to inside information of any NFL team, or indeed, any professional sports team. These people probably don't even follow the Rams much.

In other words, any one of us on this board is better informed, where the Rams are concerned, than any of these sources. Prior to this declaration, I assumed as much -- and now we know.

So, carry on.

Yeah, those sources whose sources are the same as ours. Rappaport, etc. And they are informed the same way we are.....by reading or seeing their opinions on TV or the internet. Then when they're asked "what have you been hearing?" they tell him.

Here's what McVay is saying. Coach speech or real thoughts?

Los Angeles Rams Not Naive About Big Change Coming To QB Room

Originally posted on LAFB Network | By Ryan Anderson | Last updated Apr 1, 2025 11:30 PM ET

Despite the swirling rumors connecting the Los Angeles Rams to quarterback prospects like Jaxson Dart and Shedeur Sanders, head coach Sean McVay has expressed contentment with his existing quarterback room.

When directly asked about drafting a quarterback, McVay responded,

“I think that’s unlikely, to be honest. I haven’t done a whole lot of work on the quarterbacks. I feel really good about where our quarterback room is, even though we’re not naive to the fact that Matthew [Stafford] hopefully has a couple more years he wants to play. But he’s also earned the right to say, after this year, ‘Hey, I’m gonna go ahead and hang them up.’ I’m hopeful that’s not the case, but I haven’t done enough work to really have an educated opinion on that. It’s not something I’d see us doing, but maybe not.”

While McVay leaves a sliver of ambiguity, the practical implications lean heavily against drafting a quarterback. Any rookie would likely be relegated to third-string behind Matthew Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo, with Stetson Bennett already serving as the emergency option. Jimmy Garoppolo’s decision to re-sign with the Rams, turning down other opportunities, suggests he received assurances about his role.

In essence, McVay’s comments significantly temper the expectation of the Rams selecting a quarterback early in the draft. His focus is on maximizing the team’s current window of contention with Matthew Stafford, postponing any quarterback-of-the-future discussions.

General manager Les Snead also commented on the idea of drafting a quarterback. His answer was circular to say the least, but left the door open if one fell in the team’s lap.

“If a team really thinks that player is their next QB, it’s not like they’re going, ‘Hey, let’s wait till the middle of the second round. Let’s do it now.’ … If the right guy fell to No. 26, and maybe he’s the right guy for another team, they might want to move into the first round (and) draft that guy. So maybe that is better for the Rams than picking that ‘right’ guy. That’s how to honestly answer that question. And then to be honest about the dishonesty, if we were really looking at a QB at No. 26, we would probably say an answer like that.”

Considering the roster constraints, the Rams’ lack of a second-round pick, and McVay’s historical drafting patterns—having selected only Stetson Bennett during his tenure—his words appear to reflect the team’s genuine intentions. Both history and current roster dynamics suggest the Rams will likely prioritize other positions in the draft.

Yeah, I think the Garoppolo signing tells you all you need to know about this. Any rookie QB who the Rams intend to be Stafford's successor is not going to be drafted as a 3rd stringer.
