As much as I hate to say it, the 9ers are doing this at the perfect time.

They have a last place schedule, they are shedding a ton of cap, and they still have some great veteran pieces to help train up a young draft class...and oh yeah, they have a shit load of picks (11!! 4 in the top 100) and tend to draft well.

It may look crazy, but it's the perfect time for them to do a retool and be back on their feet fast, possibly as soon as a playoff push this year.

Wonder where they learned that from?🤔

Brock Purdy

Is Brock Purdy worth what Jalen Hurts is being Paid?

Is Brock Purdy worth what Kirk Cousins got paid?

Is Brock Purdy worth what Derrick Carr got paid???

So why pay Brock Purdy and be locked into that contract?

Is it a Shannan thing? Can anybody run that offense?

Why can’t you trade for Kirk Cousins or sign Aaron Rodgers and just go to Mac Jones and have him run that offense. He looked go on the Jaguars.

Looks like some 49ers are like why didnt we just keep Darnold? Maybe they don’t want to pay him. Dont want to overpay a guy.

But Purdy proably will be paid. Just dont think he’s a difference maker.

49er hate stems from their owner back in the day Eddie Debartalo was kind of cocky bravado up and center in the cameras. The 49ers were the bulls before the bulls. Montana Rice.

And they kind of got around the old school salary cap paying guys under the table.

When you look at the Niners you see a franchise going through a clean slate rebuild. It's why I expect them to trade Purdy. How fast can they rebuild? A year maybe two. They look to be the #3 or 4 in the NFC this year. I can see them totally revamping the offense more to look like the Eagles, i.e. drafting both a top RB and QB and using more RPO. That can work but it depends upon how well they draft.

You look at the Commanders and Eagles. It took the Eagles about 3 years to get it right for them. The Commanders looked very good, but much like the Eagles did early on with Hurts. But let's see how they fare going forward.

Winning SB's is a team effort. You need good defense, and more than an elite QB. Having an elite QB is great but just part of the equation. How good would the Eagles be without Barkley? There needs to be balance on both sides of the ball.

The media is talking about a trade offer to Dallas for McCaffery. I doubt it gains much traction. What Christian has shown, in the same way Kupp in LA, is that elite talent doesn't mean much if the player is injury prone and not available when needed most.

I look at their cap situation and they need to unload more vets to give them flexibility. Kittle and McCaffery would seem to be the most likely targets , with Purdy following them next year if not traded this year. This is the logical result when you have a roster of expensive stars.

The Rams went through it in 2022 and to a lesser extent in 2023. IMO the team the Rams must be wary of is in Seattle but it's hard to figure out what is going on up there. Until they improve their OL the offense will always struggle. Geno was better behind a marginal OL than I think Darnold will be.

Until the Cardinals upgrade at QB they will always be late season faders because of Kyler's well documented poor work ethic.

• Lynch said the 49ers knew when they signed him there was a possibility new receiver Demarcus Robinson could be suspended for the first three games this season due to a DUI arrest in Southern California in November. That means two of the team’s top four receivers — Aiyuk (ACL) and Robinson — could miss the first three weeks.

“There’s an opportunity that he may miss some time,” Lynch said of Robinson.

Anyone smell a dumpster on fire?

Why worry about WRs when they will blame everything on Purdy anyway assuming he's still on the team.

I believe at some point Purdy will be signed. Will it be a top tier contract at 55 mil plus? His numbers indicate he deserves it. Or will it be a team friendly deal at 45 mil or less? Probably somewhere in between.

The 49ers are pretty much stuck. While the numbers indicate Purdy should be getting elite money, not many think he's anywhere near elite. But like Dallas did with Prescott, they have to pay the guy. If not they could be lingering in that dreaded quarterback purgatory for years. They know they could do a lot worse than Purdy.

The only question is, do they think he will be their franchise quarterback for the next decade? He does have more limitations than the upper echelon quarterbacks. Mainly size and arm strength. By September we will know if they view him as the guy to lead them into the next decade.
