Tush Push should be banned. I thought it used to be illegal for an offensive player to assist the ball carrier in moving forward.

I can see in the open field another offensive player hitting a defender that is attempting to tackle the ball carrier and it results in the offensive player moving forward being legal, but the tush push ain’t that. Maybe have the rule read that an offensive player cannot push the ball carrier forward when they are behind the line of scrimmage.
Before 2005 (I think) it was illegal for an offensive player to assist (push or pull) a ball carrier. They need to re-implement that rule. It is dangerous when O lineman run up from behind and crash into the pile to gain additional yardage. That would fix it.

I don’t like that at all. More “judgment” for refs to botch. It makes sense Detroit wants this change as they play dirtier on defense than any team. I hope they don’t do it.

If the NFL wants to re-establish it's credibility than all penalties of 10 yds or more and holding and PI regardless of distance should be immediately reviewed without a red flag. Just like TDs are immediately and quickly reviewed. Until that the "NFL is Rigged" feelings will only escalate. They have a burgeoning credibility problem and they need to be pro-active.

Personally I think the officiating is without doubt manipulated by gambling corruption by officials and ownership. The problem exploded right after the NFL openly accepted sponsor ship by gambling interests and there is no way that is coincidence.

IMO the only positive thus far was the penalty review even if it's limited to picking up a flag not throwing one and the overtime change to eliminate the instant win by the initial receiving team for scoring a TD. That has always been asinine as it gives a huge importance to the coin toss.

This stupid thing by Detroit to base seeding by win record is also asinine as it rewards teams who have a soft regular season while penalizing teams with difficult schedules. Teams that are perennial winners, like the Rams, will always have more difficult schedules.

I usually ignore "owners" meetings as they are nothing but politics.

Also changing for 2025 is that Hawk-Eye will be deciding 1st downs, the line of gain will no longer be decided by bringing out the chains.

Officials will place the ball and then Hawk-Eye, the Artificial Intelligent replacement for officials dragging out the chains, will make the call. Hawk-Eye is a sports-review tech company that will use six cameras placed throughout the stadium to assist in making the measurements. This system will be installed in all 30 stadiums.

This is more of a novelty for now than anything else.

I'm gonna miss the old guys on the chain gang but they're not quite dead yet, still gonna be there as backup to the new system.

And this new system is purely for measuring. Nothing to do with spotting the ball which is the bigger problem...
