Rapoport feels a decision could be made today....but a trade is still possible. I can't see the Rams being too upset about Brady recruiting Stafford at a ski resort. I'm sure the Rams would just as much love to get a boatload from the Raiders and package Kupp as well. I hope we have good news on Stafford staying today.

That is good news as Rapoport seems to be the mouth piece that is used with Stafford.

Yup! The info was accurate and although we won't know the $$ until after Free Agency ends it's a one year deal. Not 2 or 3 and it was likely as many here said, take the one year deal, less money in a great system and place to be. If they win a SB they can talk about another contract or wish him well. At least we're not rebuilding or trying to square the circle with ARod for a year or two. As I said this HAD to be a tough call and a one year deal probably no one is thrilled with in the end. Less money, no multi-year deal. Rams will be looking long and hard at the 2026 QB class. Welcome back Matt. Let's make it a great one!

I certainly hope this quote from Snead, “GRUELING MONTH” will satisfy the egg-spurts on this forum about this NOT being an easy decision:

Cooler heads eventually prevailed, though, and the two sides agreed on a new contract so Stafford could remain with the Rams. The decision capped off what Rams general manager Les Snead called a "grueling month," and he explained to ESPN's Pat McAfee that Stafford and the team decided it was better to chase a championship together than apart.

I get your point, but I'm going to split hairs a bit here. It may have been tough to figure out all the details of the contract, but it seems to me that, based on stuff that McVay said earlier, the decision to stick with Stafford was an easy one.

They may have had some internal discussions about which way to go if they weren't able to get Stafford, but Stafford was seemingly always their top choice. And by a wide margin, I think.

But certainly getting it all worked out was a tough and grueling process.

"Grueling month" does not equate to "tough decision."

By all accounts, the Rams always wanted Stafford back. There was obviously some work that needed to be done on the money, and the Rams ultimately concluded that it would be helpful if Stafford's camp had an opportunity to see what else was out there. In the end, though, they were "never close" (McVay's words) to trading him.

So, yes... the process was "grueling," but the Rams apparently knew what they wanted throughout.

Gee, and all this time I thought there were 2 parties involved in the decision… If I say the sky is blue?

If you said the sky is blue, it would probably mean it was cloudy. Then, when someone mentioned the clouds, you'd say "I didn't necessarily mean today!"
