I think the problem with keeping him is that he would be a 5th WR and would have to accept that role and McVay would have to accept that as his role and not be tempted to play him over Atwell or Whittington. Would be insurance for us and a huge trade piece if some WR around the NFL gets injured in camp.. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. McVay: 77-49, 2 Superbowls, 1 Lombardi............Doubt at your own peril by majik 4 hours 13 minutes ago Total posts: 1257 Joined: Aug 31 2015 New Jersey Pro Bowl Re: Kupp to be Traded POST #110 According to Over The Cap, the Rams have $24-$25M in cap space left, however it does not look like Stafford’s new deal has been adjusted yet.Releasing Kupp will open up another $7.5M in cap space, which is not a ton of space versus just keeping him. I think the problem with keeping him is that he would be a 5th WR and would have to accept that role and McVay would have to accept that as his role and not be tempted to play him over Atwell or Whittington. And Kupp did that out of frustration and also to very much influence a release so he controls his destination. Don't be surprised if he ends up in our division.Been a HUGE Kupp fan since 2017. Like Max said, "he'll always be a Ram". Q?: Are we over the cap? Would we be if we kept him through camp? Guys get injured all the time.
