Simple question, should the Rams look at signing him?

He's coming off a late season injury to his calf last year. In 2023 I believe he had an ACL so he's a bit injury prone. When healthy he's a good LB. They play him outside at Will in their 4-3 alignment. But in college he was an ILB and he's built like an ILB and lacks the speed to play OLB in a 3-4 hybrid system. That said he would be an upgrade over Rozeboom next to Omar.

He would be a mid-range FA IMO and would fill their need inside. He would likely play as a rotational ILB particularly in the early downs. When he played ILB in college he was pretty good vs the run.

IMO he would love to play in LA vs the Niners twice a year while contending for SBs. From a roster perspective he would be a clear upgrade over Hummel as far as roster spot. On passing downs Shula can sub Rozeboom who is faster.

Just a thought since they are in making a SB run mode. Having a vet who isn't over the hill or green would be an asset as an early down starter next to Speights. That is exactly why they signed Reader who is older and not as good as Greenlaw.

It's Reader who would be replaced and Greenlaw is a clear upgrade.

I would take a chance on him. He is an absolute killer!! Injury is high though, wouldn’t break the bank.

Signed with Broncos, IMO probably too much injury risk

That’s true. But when he’s on, he’s a problem. Rams likely turning to the Draft. Is Rozeboom under contract?

Rozeboom is a FA (Reeder too, not that anyone would want him back)...

That’s what I thought. Rams will wait until later in FA then hit this with the draft & UDFAs I think. Kyzir White - Cardinals. The only off ball backer FA left worth anything. Unless the Rams want to try to trade for one.
