What I don't get is how, for example, one day one of them says the rams are drafting a LT. Then the next day they have a " 2.0" mock and the rams are drafting a LB. Its really silly, and of course I gobble it up.

Right? There's more demand for content than there is content. A lot is silly but not all of it, and it's usually entertaining (or valuable) enough for us to pay attention.

A lot of mockers make their own board and then just assign players to teams based on how they have them ranked. Maybe they consider need and history a little.

Others try and use whatever info they can gather about what teams are thinking, looking at it as reporting, not "here's what they should do based on my board."

And as i always point out, the Rams don't even know what they're going to do, depends how the draft plays out, what options they have, etc. It's a huge flow chart and at the end a little, "what do you think? I don't know what do you think?"

Lot of potential outcomes...
