ramsman34 wrote:Well, while basking in the afterglow of last night, we start to turn our attention to the Eagles. I am of the persuasion that the NFL, especially in the playoffs, is about matchups. This is what concerns me about the Eagles. We are on the road and weather could play a factor. Our D front is undersized and did not match up well against the Eagles OL in either run D or pass rush last time. And this has been a concern against all the bigger/better OLs faced this year. The run D is not great at lane integrity when facing elite/elusive backs. Barkley torched this D earlier. RPOs/running QBs have been an issue all season. Stafford will get shaky fast if the pressure is too quick and consistent. MCV bails on the run if the Rams trail by 10+

Now, will any/all of these things present on Sunday?? No one knows. But the Rams will need masterful game plans and execute them at the highest level to offset some of their inherent matchup weaknesses on both sides of the ball.

Frankly, I think the ride ends in Philly. They are just a really bad match up. But, that’s why they play the games. There will be mistakes and possibly turnovers that can be capitalized on. STs can play a factor.

I will be rooting like mad. But I won’t be surprised or devastated if they lose. This is a very difficult game and matchup. Frankly, it is/will be the hardest matchup unless we see the Ravens in the SB.

JMO.

Eagles are a problem, great OL and DL. But if they play the way did against the Packers, we win. The eagles offense has not been good of late.

The Rams DL has made it clear it screwed up against Saquon and company. I doubt that happens again. Saquon will get some yards, but not 300 lol.

Weather is a concern, but the Rams are built tough and can win multiple ways.

My biggest concern is Hurts getting loose and making first downs when they need it. He wont be Darnold sitting in the pocket, but he isnt a great pocket passer either.

I think the Rams will once again feel like no one is giving them a chance. Ill take Stafford in a playoff game.

We had a pit stop but they didnt ask us. Took 15 minutes. Looked like most busses stopped at the same place. The poor people running the truck stop had no idea what was happening haha.
Long story short I agree it was a heck of an experience. It very tired today but it is a great memory.

There isn't enough money to ever get me to go to Philly again. Went there on business and got mugged twice in 48 hrs. It would have been 3 times but I defended myself and it cost me 24 hrs in the custody of the PD while they "investigated" despite 4 witnesses verifying my version of events.

I worked my way through college as a security guard and had training and a certification to carry a baton. Sure it was for CA but it showed I had training. I had a simple hardwood cane hardly a deadly weapon. The mugger had a 3 page rap sheet going back 10 yrs and was a drug abuser. The cops gave me grief for having a simple cane. I was in my mid 40's with a mild limp courtesy of the Viet Cong which is why I used a cane and still do. I guess it made me look vulnerable to the locals.

At least take some pepper spray and pack it in a leak proof container in your checked luggage. :roll2:

It's probably worse now than back in the 90's as well. Me I'd rather watch the game on TV with my GF. ;)

So odd. I was there in 2016 and had zero issues. I even talked shit about the Eagles and Flyers as I am a Kings and Rams fan, of course. The women talked more shit back to me than the dudes. Lmao. I was at a bar and cheesesteak joints, not at a stadium. lol.

That is an advantage for them for sure. 2 headed rushing attack, big OL. Then again, a lighter, more agile player might just be better on a sloppy surface. Maybe those big guys can’t move as well when it’s wet and our quicker D7 can’t take advantage of that?

Stafford is probably the better cold weather passer bc his arm is just better.

Kyren, wet ball, fumbles….lets hope not.

TEs will be a factor in the pass game. Need Higs.

Man, I had a pretty good feeling about the Vikings game. This one, not so much.

Well it was a long time ago, but I was staying in a decent hotel near where I needed to be which was a business district.

Unfortunately, I was just looking at an early forecast for Sunday and it shows light rain or snow flurries with temps in the mid 20's. That's not good. Advantage Philly because their main offensive emphasis is the power run game. It could also slow the defensive line rush and dictate a shorter passing game. :(

Hopefully, it will change, but I'm not counting on it because the national forecast is for an extended cold front all along the eastern US. Another reason I wouldn't want to go to a game in an outdoor stadium is that most Californians don't even have the clothing for that kind of weather. I remember when I first moved to Seattle from LA, I had to buy a whole lot of warmer winter clothing, and it rarely snowed in Seattle in those days. When it did it was light and didn't last long.

Did the Seattle thing about 5 years back. You ain’t kidding about the clothes and weather. But I got the big snowstorm in 2018.

Wouldn’t go back there if ya paid me.
