Not the worst. But in the bottom 5. Maybe bottom 3. Let’s see how much “better” they get when the starters start coming back.

Still in the hunt for worst division in football. So there’s that. What an ugly game offensively.

Is it safe to say never to count our McVay and co until the fat lady sings going forward? Would be nice to avoid such slow starts but next time we are like 2-5 hopefully everyone keeps the faith!

LOL. Entertaining re-reading this thread.

October...."This defense sucks!"

This defense just won the last 3 games and had a huge hand in winning the division......

But there's still the postseason. If the Rams get smoked some can say, "yeah, see, I was right".

You heard it here first.... :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Just kidding around guys. It's a wonderful time to be a Ram fan. Can we enjoy it together?

Well, suffice to say I was wrong - in the end. At the time?? You are what your record says you are. We were one of the worst teams. We now have a shit to win it all. Unlikely unless the offense can score more than 20 a game. We can’t expect the defense to hold any of the playoff teams under 20 can we??

Playing with house money so I will enjoy it and hope they can keep finding ways to win. Hopefully with an offense that can really complement how the D has played of late.

That's why the sayings, "it's a marathon" (for those who live and die by the week) and "60 minutes" (for those who live and die by the quarter) are applicable. Were we "one of the worse teams"? Sure. Was that because we were one of the most injured? Or one of the youngest? So, I guess if we were one of the worst, then based on results, we are now "one of the best"? :D

Hey, for me, it's be fun watching them all year. It beats being a Jets fan. Or an Arizona fan! Or a Seattle fan!! Or especially a niner fan....... :lol2:

Even KC has their weaknesses but they find ways to overcome them. The Rams have remodelled themselves once again. Back in the day defenses won championships. Then it became an offensive league because the NFL wanted to increase the popularity of the game.

The old philosophy of building via the draft was bucked by "F'em Picks" and the Rams won with a bunch of hired guns. That has run it's course now they have the rest of the NFL running around hiring all the hired guns they can afford. So now the Rams are building through the draft. They have proved it doesn't take forever to do it if you know how to draft and evaluate talent. So they will once again be ahead of the curve by going forward by going back to the traditional way of team building.

That is why for the last 2-3 years I have honestly believed they would draft their next QB1. Then Darnold hit the NFL by storm and he was young enough to have multiple future contracts, i.e. the perfect "hired gun". But I think the Vikings will extend him and keep McCarthy as their developmental #2 QB. So it's why I see the Rams returning to their original plan of drafting a QB.

This next game will be to see if Jimmy G can be that bridge or if not then look at carrying Stafford one more year. If Jimmy plays lights out I think this is Matt's last year. They should then draft the next franchise QB in the first round for that 5th year option allowing them to sit and develop the rookie for a year. Drafting a QB is the only way they can be able to extend the key defensive players they have drafted the last two years.

All I'm saying is that the Rams have been in continuous evolution since they moved back to LA. It's a process, one that will have ups and downs but is sustainable over the long term. We as fans simply need to hang on for the wild ride.
