McVay made it fairly clear that he’s playing backups.

It looks to me like Stafford can use a game off to rest his arm/body.

So we’re gonna see a lot of Corum and JimmyG.

I’m not really sure what SEA gets out of playing all their starters 4 quarters on the road in a pseudo exhibition game.

Agree. I'd think they'd like to have a look at Sam Howell. Geno is only under contract for one more year. But maybe a little revenge from the earlier loss, and perhaps a tie at 10-7, losing the tie breaker 5 levels down is more important for a rookie head coach.

Possibly if a coach is not on the hot seat. If he is on the hot seat I doubt he'd intentionally call plays to lose. Plus, after the Brian Flores incident I doubt management would tell a coach to lose games.

He did it in 2017 and again last year. If you watch last night's Coach McVay Show he made it pretty clear he thought it was the right thing both times and is going to do it again this year.

He talked about "rest and rejuvenation..."

With that Detroit offense I'm definitely pulling for them Sunday night. I'd much rather play the Vikings at home. Although if we win we'd probably be going to Detroit again. Although Detroit's defense is questionable. Maybe we could win a shootout like with Buffalo.

He's won 80 games in the NFL, 4 Division titles, 2 CCG and a Super Bowl. Who can argue? Well certainly there will be some, but ...... :roll2: .

Ya. You can’t argue with his plan based on past success and common sense. Stafford, Kupp, Puka, and Higs could all use less wear and tear and what amount to about 13 days off not counting practices.

If they have a comfortable lead late in the game, maybe put Bennett in there to see what he can do.

I could see that.

The Rams have enough depth to play almost all #2s across the board on both sides of the ball. I will be interested in seeing McMahan if he plays. With Dedich at C and J. Jack at LG that would make McMahon their RG and only he would be without game experience. If they have another gem in the rough like with Dedich that would go a long way into setting their OL depth for next year. When the Eagles took him in the 6th round this year, I thought they had gotten real value for the pick. As we saw with Corbett, teams aren't always patient about developing OL. With luck the Rams may have another Corbett type of OG.

If they stick to playing backups on both sides, then we could see Durant and Forbes as their boundary CBs. That would be interesting if we do because unless they extend Witherspoon which IMO they should do, they would be looking at Durant and Forbes as their outside CBs next year. I still expect them to draft an OT and CB on the second day but CBs take time to develop. It's rare they play well as rookies.

Winning and losing aside, it will be an interesting game to see just how good or not their depth is and it will go a long way in giving us a glimpse at where their draft focus will be.
