Agree with you on the toast interpretation. Buffalo was 3 weeks ago. I don't think you go from top of your game to washed in 20 days.

I was inclined to blame SF on the rain, Jets on McVay being conservative because he thought the weather would be a problem and also thought they could win that way.

This game was inexplicable, not sure what to make of it.

The defense seems more vulnerable to me than the points allowed the last 3 weeks would otherwise indicate. I don't think it's sustainable to give up that many yards, that many long drives, that few punts and expect to not give up a lot of points.

They're gonna need a lot more offense. Can they? They could against Minnesota and Buffalo.

We know it's possible...

The defense hasn’t given up more than 9 points in 3 games. Scoreboard is scoreboard. Yes they have let teams drive on them but they make plays.

The offense, Stafford has to pull his head out, McVay get back in your bag, and let’s utilize other WR not named Kupp.

My .02:

It’s amazing how one weak Offensive line link can jeopardize an entire game; certainly a ton of plays. I won’t even use his name because it is nauseating. I pray this is the last season we see this guy line up in a Rams uniform.

The interior of the OL did a poor job opening up inside running holes. They made the AZ front line look like the Fearsome Foursome.

If you find Demarcus Robinson let me know. Hell, let someone know. At this stage Tutu and/or Whittington need to be taking his snaps. Maybe split both Tutu and Whittington. Tutu at least offers some big play potential and Whittington is a solid hard nose WR who is physical, can make the tough short/intermediate catch, and can block. Defenses don’t even have to account for Robinson.

Stafford. YIKES! This is the second game in a row that he literally dared defenses to INT him. He did it vs the Jets and decided to up the ante by throwing at least 3 balls that should’ve been picked. Add to that some of his throws that weren’t in the zip code, and the pitch and catch ones becoming an adventure. I know Williams is not a tall RB, but the guy made some good catches on balls thrown hard and high where no defender was around him. Higbee made an unbelievable catch for a first down, where a decent ball allows him to take it up the sideline for a lot more than a 2 yard catch and roll out of bounds.

Kupp. I’m a HUGE Kupp guy but it is clear he has lost more than one step this year.

PN is a stud. Enough said.

Williams always runs hard and finishes falling forward. He was constantly met at, or behind the LOS tonight.

I thought the OL did a nice job in pass pro, minus the OT who shall remain nameless.

They had the chance to salt an ugly game away when they got the ball back with a little more than 3 minutes I think. One first down and it’s pretty much over. Williams gets 5 or 6 on first down and then nothing. Microcosm of the entire game IMO

I thought they tackled better than their 20 missed tackles previously vs AZ but still too many bull fighter oles. Especially on plays by the DBs along the sidelines.

They can’t cover a TE to save their soul.

Whenever they play a QB who breaks the pocket or extends plays it becomes panic mode.

They got good pressure on Murray and kept their edge contains better than previous efforts.

They play with high intensity. I honestly believe they will make key stops or game changing plays. There have been several previous defenses I rarely felt that. I really like the future of this D, especially with any improved LB and DB play next year.

They ran to the ball well and gang tackled. That’s huge

They did a nice jog vs a banged up Connor but WTF against Carter?

Harrison is going to be a star-especially if he gets a real QB back there

As PA said in another post, it very much feels like playing with house money, but if they want to get any further the Off is going to have to be more than Williams and Puka and the D is going to have to play lights out.

Every game, especially assuming a playoff one, is largely influenced by game planning and adjustments. McVay really needs to dial up some effective and innovative stuff going forward.

Also props to Karty.

Ask Az what a missed XP did for their final drive approach (although not that having a ball bang off your best receiver’s head and be INT’d by one of the best catches you will see, was probably not the coach’s fault-lol).

/zn/ wrote:Personally, I think this game was the reverse of the Bills game. The Bills did not take the Rams seriously enough but the Rams hit them full throttle.

I get your point but scary to think the Bills unseriously scored 42 points at Sofi.

After losing to the Rams 44/42, they beat the Lions 48/42, pretty similar games for the Bills both weeks. Rams in there toe to toe with the Bill and Lions.

Or you have the team that's been winning ugly against some of the worst teams in the NFL.

Might be one of those it is what it is situations...

Agree with F Mulder’s thoughts completely. How far we go is really on MCV game planning and the offense finding a way to execute at a high level. Like to double down with the house $$ and win at least 1 playoff game.
