Bummer - but if they had to count on him there would be bigger problems. Dude has had almost if not zero game reps including preseason.

I think that bodes well for JJ3 at some point. Wish we had him back for tomorrow.

He'll be part of the rookie staff for next season.

While getting to use the facility and getting his body stronger,

while learning McVay's system and the defensive system from other teams,

getting NFL ready.

I think he will get to compete for a starting spot next year.

I can see the lineup in 2025:

AJ/LT/345lbs, Leveston/LG/336lbs, Avila/C/338lbs, Dotson/RG/330lbs, R-Hav/RT/330lbs

This is some big beef up front!!!

Main Backups:
Limmer/C, J. Jackson/G

Draft or FA pickup
T, G

Starter

There is no question in my mind that the Rams probably will use a 3rd round pick and perhaps even a 4th on an OT if they can't or won't extend Alaric at LT. I can see them wanting to move him and pay him as a RT or pay him a middle of the road contract for 2 years. One decent year is too much to pay him as a top starter which IMO he will undoubtedly expect.

They have McDermott to play as a bridge for a year at LT. Wendell has been a magician as a OL coach! Rob Havenstein will be in an option year next season. I think they will draft OTs in the third and fourth round for both OT starters. If they do extend Jackson, then McDermott probably assumes Noteboom's swing position next year.

Leveston, projects as a OG but can also play RT. He seems to have better feet than Havenstein or McClendon so he can be a wildcard at the position depending upon what the team decides about Rob. Leveston can be a monster in the run game which is why I see him as a possible RT or good depth at OG. Remember Dotson is in an option year in 2026 and IMO Leveston was drafted to give the Rams an option to extending Dotson.

As crucial as the 2023 and 2024 drafts were, IMO they will need one more in 2025 to fill the last holes in the roster. CB and potentially the follow on at QB1 should they not be able to sign a vet QB. I don't see McVay starting a rookie at QB as his offense is way too complex for that. But they do have Jimmy G, if they don't start Stafford one more year (2025) as a potential bridge for a year maybe two. If they are going to draft a QB they should do it in round one to give them a 5th year option, something the Niners are up against with Purdy. I think they will extend Purdy because otherwise he will probably end up in Seattle, AZ or even LA.
