They freelanced, and they paid the price. That’s not on the coach per se. Shula is actually doing a fine job with who he has and the situations he has to work with. Was it Shula’s fault the Rams O went 3 n out three times in a row?? The offense is killing this team and massively impacting the defensive success. How can anyone see it any other way??I have no idea how much should be on Shula. I do know he's working with a lot of inexperience. And lets face it. Sometimes the guys lining across from our guys are just better. That was the case Sunday night. 1 by DaveFromOhio 4 weeks 1 day ago Total posts: 62 Joined: Aug 09 2023 LA Coliseum Practice Squad Time to fire Don's grandson POST #22 TOPIC AUTHOR PARAM wrote:I'd lay money he isn't gone but what do I know? After all his offense has sucked worse than the defense. Your complaint is the defense has only allowed less than 20 once, 15 vs the Raiders. And in that game the offense scored 13. So how did we win? Against Seattle, the offense scored 13 previous to OT. How did we win that game? 2 red zone picks by the defense, one returned 103 yards, without which, it wouldn't have gone to OT. Truth of the matter is our offense has scored 20, 10, 27, 18, 13, 13, 28, 19, 15, 28 and 20. Take a look at those numbers, while your blaming Shula and the defense. 4 games where we scored more than 19 points. How many teams without the 85 Bears defense or the Marvin Lewis Ravens defense win more than 3 games with that pitiful offensive production? We've scored more than 20 three times and won all three. Three cheers for the offense!!! We've scored less than 20 six times and won two of them, no thanks to the offense. But yeah, fire the DC!!!As I said, the defense has held opponents to under 20, once. So I'll stick by my Shula gets fired statement.Well you are sure Shula gets fired. Me, not so much. Here's a thought. The Rams started 3-9 last year.....mostly because of the offense. They won 7 of the last 8 games. In doing so, they scored 27 TDs (189 pts) and kicked 12 FGs (36 pts). That's 225 points divided by 8 games or 28 PPG. If they had done that this season we'd be 9-2. Incredibly, we've scored 4 TDs vs Minnesota (win), 4 TDs vs New England (win) and 3 TDs vs San Fran (win). The Eagles game was the only game we scored 3 TDs (or more) and lost. In total our offense has scored 3 TDs (or more) 4 times in 11 games. A decent offense can score 3 TDs a game. But most games, we don't even have a decent offense. How is that on Shula and the defense? Hell, the defense won two games for us (Las Vegas & Seattle). That's 1 less than the offense has won for us. McVay isn't getting fired, nor should he. But neither should Shula. I wasn't "belittling anybody". Simply saying some people experience a loss or losses and react or over-react in an illogical manner. You call for the guy's firing after we get beat by a very good team. Geez! You want to take that as "belittling" that's your choice. I tend to look at the entire picture and make a judgement from that. Our offense has sucked this year, at worst. Extremely inconsistent at best. But you want to put it on the defense. Like I said, illogical. Now that's my opinion. Instead of accusing me of belittling you, disprove my take. That's what I did to your take.
