Especially if he likes him considerably more than Bennett. by Dare 6 hours 12 minutes ago Total posts: 318 Joined: Mar 09 2024 Tucson, AZ formerly of San Diego Starter Daniel Jones, anyone? POST #12 Jones? NaahhMcVay clearly prefers vets so the best of the FAs next year will be Darnold. But they only make that move if they are clearly moving on from Stafford in 2025. I could see them making a FA run at Darnold. If they draft I think again it would be only if they know they will sit the rookie for a year to learn how to play up to McVay's expectations. Draft fits would be in Round one: Drew Allar Outside or round one: I think Riley Leonard is a very good scheme fit. He should be available in round two perhaps even round 3. But if they are going to take a QB outside of round one I think it will be in round two. If they are going to take a QB and redshirt him as a rookie then I would think they would want to take him in the first round. They will control his rights for 6 years (4yrs contract, 5th yr option, Franchise Tag). They would need a vet bridge QB for the one year. Stafford playing in 2026 would probably be best because he could mentor the kid. But he might not want that as he could make a ton of money in the media. In that case we might be looking at Jimmy G who McVay obviously likes.Personally, I only see Stafford playing in 2026 if he's the bridge QB for a rookie they draft. I think drafting is plan B as I see them going all out to try to sign Darnold. I can't imagine Darnold passing up a chance to play for McVay long term. But who knows. by Elvis 5 hours 56 minutes ago Total posts: 39929 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Daniel Jones, anyone?
