Limmer is their future at center going forward. Do they try to trade him? Not sure about that particularly this year. He would be an expensive backup but when you look at his contract he has always been viewed as a bridge player. I like Jonah Jackson but think he's a bit over paid for the player he is. It's why when I looked at his contract I wasn't surprised at it's structure. I think they may try to move him next year as his contract takes a big increase in 2025. They can fill that RG spot with Dedich, Noteboom, or Leveston. Limmer has been playing well and getting better. Sunday's game has been his best game to date. He's established himself with Stafford, and that is something they might not want to change. Once Avila comes back he will move into the LG spot and Dedich will give them an experienced competent OG/C as their gameday backup. I think McClendon stays as the starter at RT until Rob returns, with Noteboom giving them a decent swing OT/OG. Just going off the video of KT Leveston's play, I see a RG type of player in the NFL. He seems to have a bit better feet than McClendon, enough to at least play backup at RT. But I see any future in him would more likely be as a successor to Dotson probably in 2026. 1 by PARAM 1 day 8 hours ago Total posts: 12517 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame Jonah Jackson and the evolution of the OL POST #2 Dare wrote:I'm not so sure that they start Jackson over Limmer when he comes off IR. Most if not all of Jackson's NFL experience has been at OG. He played at center for a season in college. Jackson wasn't extended by Detroit because he's not a dominant OG. He's a good OG, and highly paid but his contract is front loaded making those last two years as option years. Note there is no guaranteed salary over those last two years, which is exactly what Stafford was complaining about in his contract. Matt's contract was structured in a similar manner with 2025 and 2026 as Ram option years. Should the Rams trade or release Jackson after the season, they would have a net gain in cap space. Jackson only played less than 140 snaps as a center. Limmer has almost 3 times that number. Jackson wasn't a dominant center, in fact Limmer has outplayed him. IMO the team shouldn't play a guy based upon his contract, it should be based upon their play. by PARAM 21 hours 39 minutes ago Total posts: 12517 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame Jonah Jackson and the evolution of the OL POST #8 Last edited by PARAM on Nov 06 2024, edited 1 time in total. Jackson 6 starts (401 snaps)Havenstein 7 starts (434 snaps)Limmer 7 starts (494 snaps)Dotson 8 starts (531 snaps)So, based on snaps, maybe we ought to go with those last 5 and sit the other 5? With Havenstein out Bruss should start at RT with all those snaps?? Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. Tell me if I'm wrong, but he doesn't look physical or quick at RT.Dedich and Limmer have both proven to be godsends! BTW...where's Bruss been?
