Interesting that this topic has generated so much interest here, for a quarterback who doesn't even play for the Rams.

Not really. For me, sure he was a Ram. A good Ram. But it's about the NFL trying to manufacture something like a "perfect game". Baseball envy? There are no parameters in football to determine if a QB has performed "perfectly". At least, not any that make a whole lotta sense. And that's okay. We're thrilled with greatness as much as or more than perfection. Goff vs KC in 2018. Stafford vs Tampa in 2021. NFL-wide, Simms in 1986 vs Buffalo. Doug Williams vs Denver. Marino, Montana, Mahomes, Brady, Rodgers, Manning, etc.

What I find ironic is football has done and is still doing EVERYTHING within it's power to protect and promote QBs while baseball is doing everything to make it harder to pitch. Pitch clock (which I love). 2 throws to first base before you either have to pick the guy off or it's a balk. Must face a minimum of 3 batters. Etc. And yet "perfection" is clearly defined and attained in MLB but has to be manufactured in football. The perfect game. The immaculate inning.

Use the formula I posted earlier in the thread on any game where the QB rating is below 158.3 and it works out to the hundredth percent. But anybody attaining a rating over that is 'adjusted' by means that aren't defined by a formula. It's ridiculous. And FWIW, I don't care if it's Goff, Rodgers, or anybody. I'd love to know who holds the highest rated game ever (previous to those artificial adjustments). And no matter who it is, it probably wasn't 'perfection'.
