Another year, off to a bad start so far in 2024:

Rams are tied with the Raiders at 19th scoring 19 offensive points per game.

Bears defense is giving up 19 per. That's a lot of 19's.

Rams defense is 29th giving up 28.3 offensive points per game.

Bears are a woeful 30th scoring only 13 offensive points per game.

So like i said in another thread: Bad defense vs. bad offense, how will that play out?

Bears rely more on defense than offense. I do think our offense can put up points against any defense. So that should play in our favor. But our defense still has a lot of work to do just to get to middle of the pack. They did not handle mobile quarterbacks that well the last two games. And they face another one. They really need to work on containment. Even if it results in less sacks. Williams is a rookie who will make mistakes from the pocket.

Welp, Rams were scoring 19, Bears were giving up 19 and they scored 18. But as far as TeamRanking is concerned the Rams scored 19 because they count all TDs as 7 points regardless of what happens with the XP.

Rams now 21st still averaging 19 offensive points per game.

Rams are 31st (Carolina is in last place) giving up 27.3 offensive points per game.

Not good...

This is a bad football team right now. Stats and the eyeball test can confirm.

Can they get better and how much better is the real question.

I agree with many of your posts. You know ball.

To me, the rams have no offensive threats other than Williams and Atwell. Puka is out 4 more weeks.

Imo, they need to make a move for a receiver. DeMarcus Robinson is not it.

This is just my opinion, I have no stats to back this up, but I think losing Steve Avila was huge for this offense.

I mean, losing both Puka AND Kupp was huge, certainly.

But it appears to my eyes that Avila makes an enormous difference in how this offense operates. Maybe it's just me.

I think the o-line injuries overall have made a huge difference. I think the loss of Puka/Kupp really shows up in the redzone, I think between the 20's are current WR's are fine.

Got it give Staff time to operate, I do like that the running game has been good the last two games that should bode well going forward.

This is accurate.

I think we are much closer on offense than we are on defense. If McVay can improve in the RZ we should be okay on offense, and getting our receivers back will really help down the road.

Defense doesn't seem close to being good. We can get pressure, but we NEED 4-6 sacks every game. We have 7 in 4 games. Our LBs are a joke. Our DBs can't cover anyone so they grab receivers at the most inopportune times. Maybe DWill can help our DBs. What can we do at LB?
