I don't know if they tweaked the procedure but I remember a guy on the internet who used to predict better than most, the picks awarded. Though the NFL had never explained how they decide, he claimed it was a combination of contract, playing time and performance. If that were true the Rams would get a 3rd for Mayfield, being a QB who played much more than JG....and considerably better at that. Matt Gay scored 134 points. If kickers are as important as some say, that should gain a 3rd too. Gaines, Robinson and Scott were all rotational in defenses and I don't know if Scott lost his job or was hobbled but his snaps dropped significantly at the end of the season. 52 in the last 6 games, compared to 505 in the first 11. Robinson played 515 snaps and Gaines 473.

If it's "mostly salary", the Rams will get screwed with the Baker deal (1 yr/4 mil) and Tampa will get a 3rd round if he signs elsewhere. McVay fixed him and Tampa reaps the rewards.

It’s mostly based on contract I believe. Hence JG netting a higher pick than Baker. It SHOUKD be based on performance as that better measures the talent you lost.

If CB Cooper DeJean is still sitting there at 19, we HAVE TO grab him. Will be a star player IMHO.

I for one will be watching the Senior Bowl (and practices) with much detail as the Rams most often pick from these guys and you can good sense of their play going against better comp.

Not sure about that yet. I feel if Kool-Aid McKinstry or Terrion Arnold slides to us at 19, we have draft that player. They are the top two CBs, in my rankings.
