Having late Dec games that have meaning is a bonus for me at this stage.Way, way back during training camp and preseason, it was hotly debated "rebuild" or "renovation". Some said it was all about 2024, some said, we wouldn't be competitive for two or three years and some said, it looks a lot like 2017. It was suggested we were gonna get crushed on D because of the youth and inexperience, though our offense was going to make us competitive at times. Hope was the defense would grow into a decent unit by the second half of the season. Then Kupp went down the doom and gloom swept in along with even more dire predictions. But a funny thing happened on the way to disaster. We discovered they had found a stud in Puka Nacua as well as Steve Avila and on the defensive side Kobie Turner and Byron Young. Solid free agent pickups like Witherspoon, Dotson and John Johnson further strengthened the squad. Right now, I don't think you can find a QB playing better than Stafford, Kupp is healthy again and this team has proven it can play with just about any team in the NFL. Then there is Kyren Williams. Big picture? We're waaaay ahead of schedule and by the week, not only does 2024 look really promising, but we're enjoying 2023. Nobody knows what's going to happen the last 3 weeks....if we will make the postseason or not.....but nobody thought we'd be in this position back in early September. There is one other angle by which the team and ramsnation should benefit. I don't think we're going to hear a peep about "moving to the booth" or "retirement" this off season. I feel that is exactly how it plays out. Hate and love that they are playing Thursday. Hate the physical toll but love we only have a few days to see our boys go to work again. 1 by FMulder 1 year 7 months ago Total posts: 287 Joined: Dec 11 2016 LA Coliseum Rookie If the Playoffs Started Today 2023 POST #9 PARAM, Elvis liked this post Obviously I want them to win every game overall, and hopefully at least 2/3 of the remaining games, and to get into the playoffs. However, in the bigger picture this has been a MUCH better and competitive team than I thought during training camp. Having late Dec games that have meaning is a bonus for me at this stage. 2 by PARAM 1 year 7 months ago Total posts: 13228 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame If the Playoffs Started Today 2023 POST #10 FMulder wrote:Obviously I want them to win every game overall, and hopefully at least 2/3 of the remaining games, and to get into the playoffs. However, in the bigger picture this has been a MUCH better and competitive team than I thought during training camp. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there.
