Sorry, I wasn't clear. I don't mean on this board. I just mean a lot of the outside chatter.

The Rams do not have any media voice cheerleaders at the national level and in fact many of them like to see the Rams lose .. for example, I always felt the "all-in" narrative last year was really meant to set them up to fail.

What worries me this week is Baker Mayfield will be out. He sucks. I was hoping he'd play us. I still have these visions of a backup having a career day against us. That wouldn't be the first time.

I think Carolina is in all out tank mode. DJ Moore and McCaffery could be gone before long. I am glad I picked this game to fly in from New Jersey. I am hoping for an easy win if we can block up front a little!

Where does tanking rank on this boards openness to "optics are not what they appear?" where 0 is complete acceptance of all NFL messaging and outcomes, and 10 is Illuminati Black Helicopters and Tagliabue saying "no way will I stand on that podium again with that awful lady."

In general this board is about a 3, this one might rate as 6-7?

So your saying the board seems generally gullible but in this discussion we're leaning towards conspiracy theorists?

Do teams tank?

That depends on how you define the term.

If it means the players on the field giving less than their full effort to win then, no, I don't think teams tank.

If it means a non-contending team trading away or sitting veterans to obtain future draft capital and to provide young players PT, perhaps at the expense of winning in the short run, then, sure... teams do that.

To your 2nd point, yeah if you're completely out of the running with no way to make the playoffs, I can see where it would be in the team's best interest to 'try out other players' and worry less about wins.
Not the best way to put butts in the seats though.

This team is reminding me of the 2000 Rams only opposite. The 2000 Rams could score at will but not stop anybody. Had to bring Bud Carson in to consult with the Defensive coordinator. I hope we do not need a Bears FG to upset the Lions to get in like 2000. LMAO!

As a long time lurker I have not seen much tolerance to views here that suggest an oligarchy that manages a 150b-200b valuation empire takes an, ahem, active role in managing its revenues. ;)

Those were the days, eh? So many bad RAMS teams going back to 1990, and so many opposing QBs looking like HOFs against us.

I still remember Mark Sanchez's first NFL game (preseason), his first pass was a bomb for a TD.
