I personally do not want a free agent QB. I don't care if it takes the next 5 first round picks to find a good college QB. A free agent QB is only a stop gap for a couple years. Drafting a guy who's capable of starting is the way to go. Granted this is just my opinion. Go back through the last 15 Super Bowls, just how far I could remember off the top of my head, and all but 3 of those were won by QB's that their team drafted. The three that were free agent signings were Peyton this year, Brees for New Orleans and Brad Johnson for Tampa. IIRC the next two going back were Dilfer and Warner who weren't with the team that drafted them. Finding a QB in the draft is one of if not the hardest thing in the NFL for a team to do. And IMO it's the most important and it takes a back seat to every thing else.

As for the players in this draft I think Wentz and Goff could be day one starters but don't really have to be depending on the team that takes them but I also think you're selling Lynch a little short. And tbh if all three have to sit a year I don't care I want them, and the team needs them. Because even though some people will consider it a waste of a 1st rounder if he doesn't start year one and they'll think it's a negative on the kid the position is simply too important to put low quality free agent bandaids over it. It has to be addressed and this year or we're screwing ourselves with the move to LA in a very very bad way. Think about it a rookie this year even if he doesn't start will open the new stadium in his 4th year(possibly 3rd) with the team and that's a hell of a lot better than trying to find the next 30 year old journeyman free agent at QB as a stop gap.

It's cool. We have a different preferred approach. I just cant completely agree that adding a veteran leader with proven skill sets would be bad for us even if it was only for a year or 2.
The only FA at this point would be Griffin due to his age and upside,, and that he might come cheaper. I was never all that interested in the older guys for much the same reasons you mention, although if they could have helped us win more this year then great. If he was a winner that could get us through until a better, younger longer term franchise qb aligns with us, then great again.
As bubba noted, it looks like we are going to stand pat and see what we have. Perhaps CK or SM can get us a few of those wins that Foles left on the pitch last year. Perhaps Foles and his battered QB syndrome has recovered to the 2013 form. And I do have some faith left in our talent evaluaters.
I still hope for a trade up, though this years crop outside of the 3 QB's is thin and I'm suspect they're even all that great when compared to other franchise guys.
I would like to see the LA Rams get out of the gate on a winning track, but I have my doubts about what we have already seen fail. I'd have a better feeling about CK had it not been for that dud last game in SF. If the book is out on him and Boras, I believe we're going to be disappointed again.
But I thought that when Green went down too.

I feel like I'm following you around the internet...first RRF and now here.

As for your first sentence, I would agree, but I think Fisher is too content with FGs, rather trying to score 6.
As for your second sentence, concur.

Or 3 shaky wins away from 4-12
