Perkins can't.

He absolutely has a special skill set, like on that 2 point conversion and i could see him being used like the Saints used Taysom Hill but as someone to come in and execute the offense? I don't see it.

Still, the way McVay is talking and the amount of playing time Wolford is getting, it seems all options are on the table...

I honestly do not feel either QB is a viable back up going into the season. God forbid if Stafford gets injured and misses any games. And it's not as if we have a dominant running game to fall back on.

I was not a fan of Perkins last year. However, he seems to have improved. I think that Wolford reminds McVay of himself. Perkins seemed to have a better game than Wolford. Of course who knows what practice looks like.

I hope that they keep Perkins on the squad or else he will be picked up by someone else. Perkins gives them mobility that Wolford does not.

This play reminds me of the game against Miami in 2020,
Where Hollywood Henderson ran right by the DE,
as he sacked Goff. If DH would of hit and block that DE first,
Just like what Harris did in this play,
Maybe Goff could of completed that pass instead of getting sacked.

Blocking is a HUUUUGE part of this game of football. McV's all in designing blocking assignments for every set. Priority. Not a sexy thing (until snot bubbles fly) but such a major component of a successful play. I'm starting to see coach's priority level with it after the Blanton cut.
One of the things I miss most about (2) Woods is the wood he would lay on guys. Kupp, VJ, Higby, , all solid downfield blockers.
A-Rob and McCluth could be big upgrades because of their size. If they can match RW's timing / positioning / attitude / technique, they could be deadly.
