I hope you are right, but I see no chance that Taylor-Britt is around by pick #142. Again hope u are right!

Another factor is the Rams don't often play rookies a lot, don't draft for immediate need. Nothing's 100% but that's often the case.

Rams need edge? Maybe they're expecting Garret and TLew to fill that need? Maybe a FA after the draft?

Corner, maybe Long and Rochelle, etc.

It's hard to game out because even though rookie contracts are only 4 years, the Rams don't seem to be in any rush to get them making major contributions right away...

I think you are forgetting about Hollins, I think he is the guy who will get most of the snaps at edge. I also think the Rams will select CB first as it really is their most pressing need. You need 3 CB's in todays NFL and the Rams have only Long and Rochelle at corner. I think whomever they draft they expect to provide some competition.

I also think the Rams could live with their edge situation, since they could always make a later and I think they have been depth than at corner.

I also expect the Rams to make some moves in FA post draft.

If he’s gone, it’s a deep class. There will be others.

Yeah every year we 'figure' they need this or that and every year they go in another direction.

Clearly our CB depth is thin. Thinner than Edge. And we know McVay always likes offensive skill in the draft.

So with that in mind they probably go OL with the first pick. 8-)

Of course I'm no draftnik and who knows what the Rams braintrust thinks they need. Couple that with the fact there will be 103 players off the board when we make our first pick, it makes mocking a Rams draft an exercise in futility. But what else is there to do? We all believe we know what they need so I took a look at CBS.com prospect rankings to see who is projected to be on the board when we pick in each round. And not knowing who will really be there and what direction the braintrust will go, I have listed who "I'd like" to see them pick.

#104:
Tariq Woolen, CB
Channing Tindall, LB
Luke Fortner, OL
Coby Bryant, CB
Isaiah Likely, TE

#142:
Dane Belton, S
Mario Goodrich, CB
Ed Ingram, G
Cade Otton, TE
D'Angelo Malone, Edge

#175:
Smoke Monday, S
Decoibe Durrant, CB
Brandon Smith, LB
Aaron Hansford, LB
Jerrion Ealy, RB
Chicoziem Okonkwo, TE
JoJo Domann LB-S
Kalon Barnes, CB

#211-#218:

Mykael Wright, CB
Andrew Steuber, OL
Dontario Drummond, WR
James Mitchell, TE
D'Vonte Price, RB
Ellis Brooks, LB
Luke Tenuta, OL
Jalen Wydermeyer, TE
Tyrese Robinson, OL
Isaac Taylor-Stewart, CB

#238 & #253:

Jack Coan, QB
Bubba Bolden, S
Jalen Watson, CB
Brian Robinson, RB
Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, Edge
Jeffrey Gunter, LB-Edge
Tyree Johnson, Edge
Thomas Booker, Edge
Hassan Haskins, RB
Christopher Allen, Edge

Think about this angle: you are a player who basically knows/has been told he’s going 3rd to 6th round. And, you could be targeted by the rams. It’s like a bonus for NOT going in the 1st/2nd. You know if the Rams draft you, you are expected to play and quickly.

I disagree with the Rams not playing rookies a lot they draft guys who yes, they want to develop. But, they put them kn special teams and, if the rookies work hard in practice and prove themselves, they do not hesitate to play them. Ernest Jones, Fuller, Rapp, Skow and Harris got reps, Gaines…. The rams target specific players they feel can fill roles almost immediately and also draft development depth.

Just saw the Draft spot with Big Whit vouching for Kayvon Thibs. Good to see Whit mentor the new bloods.
