These articles make me think we might not be as far off as we think.

From Rams practice squad to Super Bowl starter

SAN FRANCISCO _ One of the most unlikely starters Sunday in Super Bowl 50?

Try Carolina right tackle Mike Remmers. Just 15 months ago, Remmers was tucked away in obscurity on the Rams' practice squad, after bouncing around from Denver, to Tampa Bay, San Diego, and Minnesota.

Oddly enough, Remmers' NFL career began in 2012 when signed as an undrafted rookie out of Oregon State by. . .Denver _ Carolina's opponent in Super Bowl 50.

All of those stops had resulted in only one game, with San Diego in 2013, before the Panthers signed him off the Rams' practice squad on Oct. 28, 2014.

"Being on the practice squad, or being a backup, all you're hoping for is that opportunity to go out there play," Remmers said.

Joe Barksdale was the starting right tackle for the Rams in 2014; Remmers spent about eight weeks in St. Louis, getting signed to its practice around Labor Day of that year.

"They were a great group there," Remmers said of his time in St. Louis. "It's tough bouncing around from team to team because you can never get comfortable. Being on the practice squad you're kind of low man on the totem pole.

"I was playing a lot of defensive line for the (scout) team (with the Rams). So my conditioning definitely went up, definitely improved. It was good though. It was a nice experience there."

When his agent called to tell him Carolina had signed him to its active roster, Remmers was about to go into a team meeting at Rams Park. He didn't have time to say any goodbyes; he packed quickly and was on a flight just an hour or two later.

He started the final five games of the '14 regular-season for the Panthers. Counting Sunday's Super Bowl, Remmers, 6-5, 305, has started 26 consecutive games for Carolina.

"It's been a great fit for me," Remmers said in a Thursday interview. "I'm very thankful, very blessed, to be in this situation."

Indeed, as did Oher from Blind Side fame. Bad game from the protection standpoint. They still were part of a 15 win team.
The Broncos pass rush resembled ours when it's performing at it's best. Ware and Miller were unstoppable.
