PARAM wrote:So you're doing the "lazy thing" and just looking at losses, saying he failed to pull the game out? And you're going to include those 7 losses as a rookie in Fisher's high school offense? That in itself is ridiculous, but there's more. You're counting the Seattle game last year when he drove us down to win but Z missed the FG at the end? :idea2: Or the SF game when he drove us down to tie and we did tie but the defense gave up two 3rd and 16's on SF's drive to a GWFG? Not one, which might have been a fluke, but 2! :idea2: Riddle me this batman, were there any "failed comebacks" that weren't his fault? Like a receiver dropping a ball? Or a RB not taking the proper lane? Or a holding call? False start? Or other dumb penalty? How about just a great play by the defense? Good job. :roll2:

While conveniently leaving out the 88% passer rating, Fumbles, interceptions and the ones that actually were totally his fault like the game last Sunday and the one at Miami. I don't have the time to parse which games he should have won, which games he could have won and who's fault any of them were. I only know that he's ranked 165th on game winning drives with guys like Sam Bradford equal to or better. His 88 career QB rating is mediocre at best. His turnover to TD ratio is lousy and he makes a shitload of money to be pedestrian. But...carry on with the sunshine pumping. It's amusing.

Oh yeah, atta boy. "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!" By the way genius, his career passer rating is 92.0. :idea2: :idea2: So maybe you don't have the time to research the validity of your complaints but you could actually learn how to read.

BTW, I'll save you the difficulty in figuring in his postseason numbers....with those it's a career rating of 91.9. :D

And I loved this one

Well if your trailing in the 4th, much more often than not, there's more opportunities to "come back". See that's a crap argument that means absolutely nothing. Just for perspective.....Mahomes has 6 comebacks and Otto Graham 8 (you know who he was right?) :o . Yeah, they suck eh? :shock2:

There is no valid ranking of game winning drives/comeback wins based just on the raw number of them to a qb's credit. That's because just the raw number of how many you have tells you nothing. For example just as a Ram, Warner has 6 GWD/CWs to his credit, while in the last 3 years Goff has 8. What is the real difference there? Warner 's Rams tended to win with heavy leads. It was the GSOT, a record setting scoring offense.

The REAL number that actually means something is percentage of wins in GWD/CW situations. But no one keeps that stat. To do it yourself you would have to go through every boxscore for every game of every qb for a set number of years.

Nice cherry-picking.

Now tell all of us what the alternative was at the time Goff's rookie contract was up, and what the alternative is now.

Too late to do anything now but the management should have waited until the contract was actually done before extending it. Maybe with the benefit of one more year a more equitable number would have been arrived at.

That's not how qb 2nd contracts work. If a guy is a starting caliber qb he gets what starting caliber qbs are getting for 2nd contracts that year. The amount goes up every year.

Goff just got what starting caliber qbs were getting for 2nd contracts the year he came up.

You wait on that and it costs you more.

In a few years, since 2nd contracts will KEEP going up, Goff's deal will seem like a bargain.

Depends on who's doing the rating. I got my info here and since you brought up playoff rating...yeah...that's 73.6.

Mahomes career consists of 42 games.

Anyone trying to argue that the last 2 years has been anything but less than mediocre is just in spin mode. Goff has had the benefit of some of the most favorable circumstances a QB can generally have and he has been consistently ranked in the bottom third of his peers.

And, I knew people wouldn't be able to handle Voldemort's name being brought up but it really should illustrate just how much Goff has been struggling. This his numbers are even in the same coversation as someone so many thought was terrible should be sobering. But no, 85 and 80 are worlds apart. Or using regular season games vs. regulars season games for an apples to apples comparison is somehow nefarious. I mean, all else was left equal but that's not good enough.

<sigh>Goff needs to turn things around. He's got some favorable matchups to finish out this season so maybe he gets on a roll. But I just posted a link for someone with the '18 Bears game analysis and you really wouldn't know much of a difference between that game and the SF game when it came to what Goff was doing. He surprisingly seems to be dealing with the same vision issues and forcing the ball and predetermining where he's going with the ball.

So you'd still want Goff at QB, just for less money?

I'm sure Stan Kroenke appreciates you looking out for his financial well-being, but that doesn't really address the turnover issue, does it?

Goff's hit to the cap precludes them from doing anything about the turnover issue.. Other than that Stan could have given Goff Sofi stadium for all I care.
