And if you go by sacks per pass attempt, we were 3rd best. We had the 7th best rushing attack by yards, 5th in yards per carry. So yeah our offense was atrocious but i don't see the line as a main culprit.Notice how 5 of the top 6 teams on that list were not playoff teams? And the seahags were a pretty good offense, yet ranked worst than us. Just goes to show how important the quarterback and skill positions are. We not only need a quarterback, we need legit receivers. Britt's ok for the occasional deep pass. Austin's explosive and can do different things. But they need a legit receiver who can run routes, go after the ball and pick up first downs. They really don't have someone like that.and 3 of the top 5 ranked 30th, 29th and 24th in offensive points scored... re better targets, certainly wouldn't hurt, but you look at the seahwaks and you see a 5'10" undrafted guy (baldwin) who booked over 1,000 yards and hauled in 14 tds, what kind of season do you think he would have had with foles or keenum throwing to him, or with fish controlling the o?Yeah, the guy throwing the ball is probably the single biggest reason for success in scoring. I never considered Wilson an elite quarterback, but the numbers don't lie. When they had to pass more out of necessity they became a more prolific offense. His mobility really makes a difference. He can extend plays or pick up first downs with his legs. Keenum's got the ability to do that but he doesn't have the arm talent. We just need a quarterback who can make the plays that are there to make. by aeneas1 9 years 5 months ago Total posts: 16894 Joined: Sep 13 2015 Norcal Hall of Fame Re: PFF Offensive Line Rankings for 2015 POST #12 snackdaddy wrote:Yeah, the guy throwing the ball is probably the single biggest reason for success in scoring. The Rams are one of the wors in the league for runs for a loss. Fourth and short? Forget about it. Gurley got a lot of yards on his own. The interior of the line had some real issues moving guys off the ball. I'd like to see a new C and LG combo. Along with some TE's that block. Saffold was simply terrible when he played. He needs to go. Brown showed potential. So did Wichman. Both are better in pass pro than run blocking. Reynolds in a JAG imo. Unfortunately, there is still some work to do with this OL.
