Did he conjure up the entire partnership deal just to help him keep Kroenke out of LA?

I'm sure that was the main reason, if not the only reason why he did it. He thought it would help him keep SK out and get to LA. As mentioned by Policy, he thought it would be the "Cal. solution" for two bad stadiums, and he thought the Raiders would help him keep the Rams out of LA and help him get to LA. Ironically, teaming up with the Raiders/Davis and their baggage might have hurt his chances to get what he wanted.

Yeah, I think I also heard Fred say that the partnership idea was a scam. Didn't know it was Richardson who came up with it. But I do recall Fred saying Raiders are now pissed at Spanos for dragging them into this under false pretenses. Said "the Raiders were used"

the trademark thing is interesting, lots of pro sports team trademarks have been allowed to expire over the decades, for example the oakland raiders have a couple of very cool vintage trademarked logos that have long since expired, but no one bothers to claim them because even tho expired, someone would have little chance of legally using them given the entrenched history of the ongoing raiders franchise... there was an interesting piece on this many years ago, it centered around t-shirt companies trying to use expired pro sports trademarks (logos) in an effort to circumvent league licensing fees, didn't come close to flying... anyway, in the same vein, how about the girl who inadvertently nabbed the larams twitter handle years ago, lara m. sasken? wonder how much the rams will offer her?

It looks like they didn't or won't offer her anything (unless they couldn't or didn't want to work something out with her). The Rams new twitter handle is @Ramsnfl. I guess it's possible that they could end up changing it to @larams.

This is from last year so we move every team down one notch since #23 just became #2. So why would Davis want to move from the #3 market in the nation to the #29 market? That doesn't add up to me.

Rank . . . Team(s) In terms of population:

1) New York Giants / Jets
2) Oakland Raiders / San Francisco 49ers
3) Chicago Bears
4) New England Patriots
5) Philadelphia Eagles
6) Carolina Panthers
7) Dallas Cowboys
8) Detroit Lions
9) Atlanta Falcons
10) Houston Texans
11) Washington Redskins
12) Miami Dolphins
13) Minnesota Vikings
14) Cleveland Browns
15) Denver Broncos
16) Cincinnati Bengals
17) Seattle Seahawks
18) Arizona Cardinals
19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
20) Pittsburgh Steelers
21) Baltimore Ravens
22) Green Bay Packers
23) Saint Louis Rams
24) Jacksonville Jaguars
25) Indianapolis Colts
26) Buffalo Bills
27) Kansas City Chiefs
28) San Diego Chargers
29) Tennessee Titans
30) New Orleans Saints

Absolutely.

I wasn't sure i remembered it right.

I wonder is Spanos can make a deal with Davis that he won't move to L.A. if Mark also agrees not to...
